    The Big East has always been my favorite conference. I've loved their style of play for years. That said, they have figured out some way to game the NCAA tournament selection system and have been overrepresented two years in a row. This year is particuarly embarrassing for the conference. 11 out of 68 teams to start the tournament including some very high seeds and now they only have two left, an 11 and a 3. The conference should be humiliated. The Big Ten should also be humiliated. 7 teams into the tournament out of an 11 team conference is nearly as bad as the 11 out of 16 the Big East got. At least the Big Ten's 7 is now 2, that's better than the Big East.

      • One more thing about the Big East and the upcoming Big East MWC matchup in the Sweet 16. UConn is going to lose to SDSU. Some teams are ill prepared for Jimmer and Kemba because they can't believe the ability of a single player or the latitude that player's ability affords him. SDSU has played BYU 3 times and therefore is very well prepared for that type of team and that type of player. Expect the Kemba show and Conn to exit and the Aztecs to make the Elite 8.

        • That SDSU/UCONN game is going to be epic. SDSU doesn't have anyone quick enough to guard Kemba, but UCONN and Big East fans will be shocked to see SDSU out-athletic UCONN across the entire front line. Should be a great game. Hope it's not same time as BYU.

            This is my thought exactly. SDSU has had 3 opportunities this season to prepare for a player of Kemba's caliber. If anyone in the tourney is equipped to slow him down, it is the Aztecs.

                    "Entire Michigan Basketball Team Suspended for Premarital Sex, Except Evan Smotrycz"

                    Poor bastard is too tall and weird-looking, it seems.

                      • It's nice that the lead story on USA Today's online men's basketball page is currently an article highlighting Emery. Ever the gracious guy: "All year I've heard I'm the Robin, I'm the backstage guy, whatever you want to call it," Emery says. "But, you know what, that's part of basketball. Sometimes you're the star, sometimes you're not. You've just got to understand your role, and if you fight that role, there's going to be conflict and it's not going to help your team."

                          "BYU's 2014-15 team will be better than the current team. It will have some serious playmakers on it. Wait and see..."

                          That sounds like a good thing...

                            Jordan Chatman will be a good get. Too bad he won't see the court for another 4 years.

                            I expect BYU to snag another Jordan. Jordan Loveridge.

                              Chatman is going straight on a mission? I hadn't heard that.

                                [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjvkw5CE4mU"]YouTube - We Are BYU - Basketball 2011[/nomedia]

                                I have been told that the Friday before the tournament game BYU was contacted by CBS and told that there was a one minute slot open for a commercial and that BYU could have the slot for $20K. BYU dickered with CBS until they got the slot for slightly under $10K. Then, they went to a donor who supports BYU athletics and asked him if he would like to donate the money to run this commercial which had been made the previous week. He said yes.
