Are there tickets available? I read an article about 300 locals camping out for tickets. I have thought about driving up. I think that place will be rocking and I expect Jimmer to go off.

I think I predicted this last year in a thread where SU stated all of BYU's recruits were worthless.

ucla game isn't at Pauley, I think. Isnt it the Wooden Classic?

Arizona game at Delta Center is another good one.

Jimmer won't suffer from lack of exposure this season, that is for sure.

              Looks about right.

On a side note, if Jimmer's dribbling exhibition carries over to this year I will be supremely disappointed.

I like Collinsworth. He is a power guard. His game reminds me a lot of Hansen. He is really physically developed for such a youngster. I think he might have been a better fit for Cleveland's offensive sets (i.e. either dribble drive or push your way into the lane ala Travis) as I don't think he is a good enough outside shooter yet. If he develops an outside shot, he will be a CPOY. YA THAT RIGHTS MALADUTE, BYU HOOPS IS IN A CONFERENCE!

I think the real key to BYU hoops this year being any better than last year is whether or not Brandon Davies can average double digit points in the post. If BD can do that, I doubt we see as many dribbling exhibitions.

I also think that Jimmer's improved stamina will help, but that was only really apparant last year in tournament situations where one doesn't have that much time to rest and recuperate.

Most of what you saw with Jimmer's dribbling exhibition is that when the shot clock gets down to 15 seconds, the team will restart and run the high pick and roll. So you get 6-7 seconds of Jimmer backing the ball out and positioning himself to start the play and then another 4-6 seconds of the play developing.

                    I predict that won't change a bit.

edit: nor would I want it to, I'd put money saying that BYU will have the most efficient offense in the nation when it comes to shot clock 10 seconds and under.

second edit: this is traditionally a difficult time to score. think of Drisdom habitually dribbling the shot clock out under Majerus.

BYU's ability to score in those situations would take a hugemongous step forward if Davies/Hartsock/C. Collinsworth show the ability to catch and finish. There was plenty of chatter last year about Jimmer needing to improve his drop off passes to the bigs on his drives (which I agree with), but ultimately BYU's best shot at scoring on Jimmer's drives was to have him holding onto the ball for a shot or getting fouled himself.

Fredette is going to draw so much attention all year long there are going to be a ton of easy scoring opportunities for his teammates. If Rodgers can show that he can be adequate on defense and on the boards he could get big minutes at the 4.

Yes that is all true, and I agree. But Jimmer still has to be dribbling to get to the paint to be able to dish. I predict we will still have people complaining about Jimmer overdribbling this year.

I think the ability of Hartsock to shoot from 18 or Rogers to shoot from 3 is going to be critical because I think we will see a lot of Jimmer breaking the D down off the dribble. Bigs who can shoot jumpers off the catch while providing sufficient spacing to open Jimmer's shots in the middle will be critical. I hope we can always have one big man on the floor who can drop shots from 18 or farther.

It's hard to believe Utah has won more championships in the past two years than BYU has. It doesn't feel that way.

What do you think about BYU 's roster? Utah's roster?
