A plurality of votes should decide who the president is, period. The GOP has realized that winning the EC is easier than winning the popular vote. And it would be the same if the political fortunes were reversed. This is going to happen again.

Why don't they offer me money for my vote?

But this can't be possible... voter fraud doesn't exist with mail-in ballots.

I do think a switch to parliamentary democracy would cause more needed change to our political system than the other two, but yeah, that pesky document gets in the way. Don't worry, I'll move back to Canada before I burn the constitution.

Interesting but not exactly factual. Those are some hottakes but he’s stretching a bit on some. He’s obviously not well versed in taxes. I just wish there were a similar thread by someone who actual knows what they are talking about, but the problem is that it would be a boring thread since we are, after all, talking about taxes. If not paying taxes for a decade is a sign of a horrible business model, then I’m surprised anyone in real estate or oil and gas are even in business anymore. Capital intensives companies like these have structures setup that, if constantly fed by investment, take advantage of depreciation to offset income. It’s a tax avoidance scheme allowed by law but is slowly becoming less beneficial, especially for midstream energy companies that are in regulated businesses. But I don’t think real estate companies have suffered the same fate yet since their rates aren’t set by regulators.

But this is the last I’ll say on the matter. I don’t want to be construed into people thinking I’m defending Trump. I’m not. He’s clearly a bad businessman and a horrible person. It just hurts my brain to see so many people make hottakes on things they know nothing about.

          • I am going to agree with Moliere. Question one should be, did Trump do anything illegal with regards to tax law. If he didn't, then I will not fault him for his tax bill.

The real question them becomes how did such a tax system come to existence that grossly benefits certain niches in our economy, to the detriment of the majority of the population?

            • It's honestly not his taxes that concern me-- it's his absolute treating money like he's from the trailer park and he won the lottery. Dude is an idiot. He's pissed away absolutely everything he's ever been given including his stewardship over the country.

People were saying that seeing Drumpf's tax returns was going to connect him with the Russians. Where's the Russian connection we were promised?!?

Nor do they reveal any previously unreported connections to Russia.

                WTF?

OK, let's now get Hunter Biden's tax returns.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Looks like he was paying his kids as consultants which may or may not be legal depending on who you listen to.

And I don't care if it is legal or not, $70K deduction for hair styling is not going to go over well with your typical american paying a hefty tax bill.

This might be the most significant thing. This plays right into the democratic narrative of wealthy billionaires easily gaming the system.

Who loaned him all that money in his most recent round of borrowing? Someone loaned him a ton of money with generous terms.

hey ted isn't this the same project veritas that has dramatically edited footage these exact kinds of gotcha stings in the past in order to fit its political narrative? by the way, just to be clear for the readers at home, even if what happened in that video was indeed a comprehensive account of the facts in whatever case was involved, it's still a completely different case in a totally different jurisdiction from what we were just talking about and is not connected whatsoever to the two random affidavits these dingleberries put together while eating meatloaf in mom's kitchen, right?

So mail-in ballots are completely safe from fraud? Thanks, good to know that no one would ever even think about voting for other people using them. I was getting worried. Hey, why doesn't counties like Iraq using mail-in ballots instead using election ink? Seems less messy.

i don't think you need nonsense fake news links from provable grifters to reach your conclusion (which, by the way, i don't necessarily disagree with you on)
