Trump doesn't very mentally well, and is acting more and more like a fascist everyday. That's not being mean or unfair, that's being observant.

I’m not exactly sure what you’re saying here.Originally posted by dabrockster View Post
I think you left out one common point in your statement. You had anyone on the left defend and even justify their words or opinions of Charlie Kirk after his assassination. Just like you have the right standing in position in defending or minimizing what Trump said.
One encouraging aspect of Kirk’s passing was the compassion and appropriate responses from those who truly mattered on the left. However, it was only the fringe lunatics who deviated from the norm. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the right, particularly regarding Trump’s reaction."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

And there it is. You look like an ass. When you make assumptions. I didn’t vote for shit. And have made this known. Just before I can’t stand all the bitching doesn’t mean I voted for Trump.Originally posted by Donuthole View Post
Sorry, but you don't get to complain about the dysfunction, brock. You voted for this.

Bump. I'm curious about this. I've heard this several times today. Reiner always seemed to me to be: 1. An extremely partisan guy, who I disagreed with about many things, and 2. A good guy who most people liked.Originally posted by Pelado View Post
So what are the vile things that Reiner said?
Having said that, I didn't really follow him, as I don't follow anyone in entertainment. So did he really say things as terrible as this Trump tweet? Because that would have to be awfully friggin' terrible.

Islamists aren't necessarily ultra left or even left wing (you could make the argument they are as right wing as they come), but they love the enemies of their enemies in the west who are the socialists and progressive wokes. The only thing they have in common with the far left wing is they hate the "West."Originally posted by dabrockster View Post

I don't care if Reiner had said some crazy things about Trump. To shit all over a guy when he and his wife are murdered by their own son on the very day it happens is beyond the pale. Disgusting behavior from anyone. Unthinkable behavior from a sitting president."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? I wouldn't call him as Islamist. He's Muslim. He's a socialist but he isn't pushing Shariah law. Saddam wasn't an Islamist. Arafat was an Islamist, bin Laden was. Think Iran or ISIS. Being Pro-Palestinan doesn't makes you an Islamist.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post
Say what?

Turkey used to be secular muslim country but concerningly it is increasingly becoming Islamist.

I consulted the almighty Grok. Trump has a point.Originally posted by frank ryan View PostFentanyl is now a WMD? It was a helpful drug for me when I was in the ER. Someone needs to help Trump was basic definitions of words.
I think this is a pretext for our dementia-addled POTUS to start some wars.
Grok, How many Americans has Fentanyl killed in the last five years?
Over the last five years (approximately 2020–2024, based on the most recent available data as of late 2025), fentanyl has been involved in more than 350,000 overdose deaths in the United States. This primarily refers to deaths involving synthetic opioids other than methadone (predominantly illicitly manufactured fentanyl), as reported by the CDC.
Here are approximate annual figures from CDC data (final for earlier years, provisional/estimated for recent ones):- 2020: ~56,000–57,000
- 2021: ~70,000–71,000
- 2022: ~73,000–74,000
- 2023: ~72,000–76,000
- 2024: ~48,000 (provisional estimate, reflecting a sharp decline of about 34–37% from 2023)
Fentanyl has been the primary driver of the U.S. opioid overdose crisis since around 2016, accounting for the majority of opioid-related deaths in recent years. Deaths peaked in 2022–2023 but began declining significantly in 2024 due to factors like reduced fentanyl potency in the drug supply, increased naloxone access, and other interventions. Note that exact numbers can vary slightly by source and reporting delays, and many deaths involve multiple substances. For the latest official statistics, refer to the CDC's provisional drug overdose data dashboard.

What Reiner said about Trump, though sometimes false or overstated, wasn't all that crazy, and certainly not as wrong, vile, or crazy as the stuff Trump cranks out everyday. Shaka's examples were of Trump being labeled a fascist, mentally unfit, and a mass murderer. Taking those claims in reverse order;Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI don't care if Reiner had said some crazy things about Trump. 1. Trump was not a mass murderer, though I'm not sure Reiner claimed he was. Reiner did say Trump was responsible for many thousands of deaths due to his slow response to the pandemic, his false assurances that it would be over before Easter 2020, andthat people might be able to cure themselves using light, bleach, or other inappropriate treatments. Again, doesn't fit the definition of murder, but it's not hard to see that thousands of deaths may have resulted from Trump's ignorance, actions or inactions.
2. As I mentioned above, Reiner's claims that Trump was mentally unfit were/are shared by hundreds of other leaders and commentators. Today's tweet can be introduced as Exhibit A.
3. When people hear 'fascist," they immediately think of Hitler and the Third Reich. Thanks in part to a lack of intelligence and energy, Trump will never descend to that level of evil. But consider an AI statement that a fascist is one with "an authoritarian political ideology centered on extreme nationalism, militarism, and the state's absolute power over the individual, often promoting a mythical national rebirth through unity, discipline, and the suppression of opposition, viewing conflict and national purification as necessary for greatness." (Emphasis mine.) Is is all that crazy or vile to think Trump has demonstrated fascistic tendencies?
