The US Army didn’t seem to have any doubts about her allegiances when they promoted her to Lt Col a couple years ago. Disagree with her. Dislike her. But have a little respect for service and patriotism. It’s super easy to make the case against her appointment without villainizing her. For instance, she served in a medical or PR unit her entire military career. In her four terms in Congress she didn’t sit on an intelligence committee. She consistently demonstrates poor judgment on international security issues. She seeks a ban on first-use, antagonizes the Saudis, and has demonstrated minimal capacity or experience on intelligence matters. But there is absolutely no evidence she commits treason and repeating it diminishes the case against her.
I'm aware she is a veteran, but I don't think it's slanderous. She has had ties to Modi, Syria, and I would not shocked - Russia - as I'm sure Matt Gaetz does. Her opinions on Ukraine, that were so off and helpful to Russia and sour about NATO are giant red flags. She practically parroted Moscow's talking points on the issue. And she was entirely insincere with her fake "leaving the left"
charade. It was already called out while it was happening and obvious.

Michael Flynn achieved the rank of general and he was selling out before anyone has buying and gone on to do things like validate QAnon and encourage Marshall Law. He has already been found to have been an agent for a foreign county.

    • Her talking points parrot the things Russian stooges Tim Pool, Dave Rubin, Benny Johnson and Jordan Peterson say. That's why the right won this election. Influencers, access to them, and having them amplifying your cause or interjecting misinformation. That, and fact the far right and center right all bowed to Trump. The left, on the other hand doesn't operate that way. A lot progressives will never vote democrat because they are utopian Green Party types or truculent social democrats. Republicans no longer have that division. The fascists and extremists, the conservatives, Christians, right anarchist/libertarian types like Curtis Yarvin and Musk - they fell in line for Trump.

For the most part I agree with the criticism of her opinions. Where we diverge is the assumption of intent or influence behind those statements. Part of my pushback on this is my frustration at seeing the left fall into the same behavior patterns that completely fail to counter Trump. There are endless valid criticisms of Trump and his team. They can be persuasively offered. When coupled with speculative allegations of foreign influence and control the argument loses effectiveness, diminishes the accuser, and makes a martyr out of the target. Now if factual evidence of treason exists, then of course it should be offered. It will be so much more powerful when it's not surrounded by the white noise of casual accusations.

I don't have any evidence she is a Russian asset. She just acts like one with the stupid things she says and does, which is baffling. But she is 1000X better than Matt Gaetz.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

And please don't come back. Just stay away. We have elections, and if we sadly elect a shitshow like we just did, then we will all endure it together. We're Americans, dammit!

                        • I got $1,000,000 that says Vivek's SSN begins and ends with an even number.

                          Yep, it's just that simple.

Maybe a touch melodramatic but it doesn't hold a candle to the rhetoric of the incoming administration regarding immigrants, illegal and otherwise. And for what it's worth, I seem to remember watching one of those genealogy shows once featuring the Longorias. They have owned land along the Rio Grande since before the US existed: they've got much deeper roots in Texas than just about anyone (Uncle Theodore excepted). It's no small matter to say they've had enough and I doubt they have taken it lightly.

                              • So it sounds like RFK Jr. will be nominated as HHS secretary.

With everyone else being waaaaay out there, what was the deal nominating Rubio? He's at least qualified.
