So that seems fairly inconclusive to me.

Here is the thing: Al Green is pretty ugly. I do not think the meme is per se racist and I think a comparison to a caveman is not necessarily racist. Even so, it probably isn't the best thing to compare him to a caveman, but it also is not worth nearly as many pixels as have been spent here arguing about racist intent. And, either way, Reddit moderation policies are likely never a good basis to decide this issue.

Briar patches are thickets where briar plants grow. Briar plants have thorns on them and are a tangled mess that are difficult or impossible to get through without some sort of injury. SO, my guess is that when he said briar patch he meant that and not tar baby.

This is correct. I was thinking Pelosi didn't want to run into that mess of thorns and bramble, potentially injuring the Dem's chances in the next election. I wasn't trying to be racist (again?) when I used the term. As for tar baby, I have to admit - impeachment is one of those things that would stick to her and be very difficult to rid herself of if she were to initiate proceedings. So I suppose if I wanted to be more racist in my comments I could've used tar baby instead.

Know what - I'm not going to use reddit to define this stuff - and in case you were curious, I'm not likely to use Youtube, Google, or Facebook (which all three scored even higher!) as authorities on this topic either. (That said - I reserve the right to use Google to search out definitions of folks that I might actually trust. But that's different.)

But the rabbit can get through the briar patch because it lives there and so is very familiar with it. Pelosi and the democrats do not live there, 'there' being impeachment proceedings. Running into an unfamiliar briar patch results in injuries, even for a rabbit.

A tar baby, by contrast, traps you and gets all over you. But it is still tar. Pelosi and ilk will not be tarred by impeachment. Impeachment does not stick to them, rather, it injures their efforts to win other non-impeachment elections.
