  • A nazi, two racists, and a leaker walk into federal facilities protecting sensitive financial information and classified data... (Yes, two. Coristine wasn't the only one being naughty online.. (https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...e/78337141007/)

First, the guys in charge of maintaining access checked with the big guy, who said "Trust me bro. No vetting needed." So they let them in. Then, after a week, the folks decided that was a terrible freaking idea and suggested "the single greatest insider threat risk the Bureau of the Fiscal Service has ever faced" needed to be addressed, and these jokers' access needed to be shut off right now. Not to worry, though. One of them had already been fired.

Uh well, J6 was pretty bad and he pardoned all those guys. So safe bet we are headed there again. Half the country thinks Trump (and now be extension Musk) can do no wrong and anything that comes out about in the news that's negative is false.

      • The fired Nazi has been rehired. Racism is being normalized. The decent into fascism is getting steeper.
        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

        • Watching what Elon is doing is, at one level, fascinating and entertaining. But it's also deeply disturbing and fraught with potentially catastrophic, long-term damage to our nation. I wonder if those on CB who are high-fiving each other about the way the Muskrats are circumventing norms and violating the Constitution would feel the same way if a President Harris had appointed George Soros to come in and follow the same process.

I'm begging people to read Ionesco's Rhinoceros. It's happening right in front of us exactly as he described.

Of course not. And neither would I.

Musk's salute was just a socially awkward gesture.

                • Christian Nationalism is and always was fascism.

Let's not forget Trump's fascist takes on Gaza make a prime target for terrorism. More so than before.

I should do that, as it's been well over 50 years since I read it begrudgingly as a high school assignment. From what little I recall, I suspect it's a more literate examination of people's descent into absurdity (was it fascism?) than what I observed in early 2016 when seemingly normal conservatives suddenly jumped on the Trump bandwagon--it was a a political Invasion of the Body Snatchers where Chris Christie and many others went to bed extremely (and justly) critical of Trump and then woke up with a MAGA hat. Confounding and depressing.

Perfect description of how I feel. I was thinking about this last night and how the movie is an allegory for what I see going on. If I'm walking down the street and I see Donald Sutherland approaching in a trench coat and a MAGA hat, first, I will not be surprised and second, I will turn and run the other way.

It's pretty relevant right now Jeff.
