You all do know that what you view as Trump screwing everything up is precisely what his administration is trying to accomplish? Even I didn't expect his team to have a plan and implement it so quickly. Rightly (and wrongly) he views the "deep state" as an apparatus for subsidizing the progressive movement and handicapping conservatives. And that's what he is attacking. I saw that he has limited NIH grant overhead costs to 15%. That is such a blow to universities. He is targeting the institutions of progressivism.

I guess frivolous lawsuits against vaccine manufacturers are not as lucrative as what I was led to believe.

Clearly. I don't he actually believes in a deep state. He also didn't believe he won in 2020. Bannon, Musk etc are using that as a pretext to create one. I think any American should be troubled by Musk and his fashy tech fanboys gaining access to top top secret info.. There is no undoing that.

Hampering our universities is bad for our country. That's stuff fascists do. There reasons Pinochet consolidated power in Chile. It wasn't ok. Franco's black shirts pushed back against communists and anarchists among others. That's wasn't ok and was the prelude to WW2. Authoritarians always have reasons for doing things. Their motivations have plenty of sympathy, or they wouldn't succeed.

If you think he is actions are merited, that's cause for concern.

Yes, I understand all that. It still is not good.
            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I don't like what Musk is doing but it doesn't feel all that different than when the IRS targeted conservative organizations during Obama's administration.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I'm agnostic towards the ends he is apparently after. It could end up being good or a disaster. I'm not stoked on the apparent flaunting of process.

I'd be more curious about that. Honestly, I think we've entered the space where giving Musk the benefit of the doubt is foolish. I'm more curious as to why you think it's the same thing.

Our long national nightmare of not enough state sponsored patriotism in the arts is over.

Appointing Paula White as head of the newly created White House Faith Office should have a high entertainment value. It gave me a reason to look back on one my favorite videos from years past.
