You can't be a libertarian in principle and support Trump. It doesn't compute. He is all about taking power away from other entities and researching for the executive and is all about nanny statist perspectives if it is an issue he likes. Vance isn't better, he is just more robotic.

I will let you in on a secret, RFK is pretty fucking stupid and Tulsi is a dictator loving grifter so I'm not sure how they have anything to do with libertarian ideals.
If RFK Jr is pretty f*cking stupid then all the things in wrote in his book about Fauci, Gates, etc. must be slander (false), right? Why hasn't he been sued for being stupid yet?

    Well Fauci... we're waiting.

War is never a good thing... The way to fight a war is the way we fought it in WWII: e.i, "fuck with us and find out". If Putin wants that kind of war then let the day and night bombing begin. After it is over then make them pay for it with reparations.

That was a joke but maybe they will think twice about even suggesting stupid things the next time.

Putin will be emboldened to attack more countries and won't stop trying to mess with our infrastructure and networks just because Trump is president. Trump is weak on the world stage. Foreign dictators will walk all over him.

People who view appeasing Russian imperialism are uneducated on geopolitics and foreign affairs or craven and willing to sacrifice those concerns for other cultural priorities.

With NATO came the longest period of peace the earth has seen. It has not been coincidental.

If you think Trump will do anything that discourages or contradicts Putin's interests you are naive. Iran is an important ally to Russia. If Israel existentially threatens them, Trump will cease being helpful to Israel.

I am not aware of the existence of any such decision.

On the other hand, right now, I am very grateful for the Supreme Court's decision stating that Trump cannot prosecute Biden or Harris for official acts they took while in office.

Any such cases wouldn't have been successful anyway without any provable crime

I mean, that's not wrong, but a government prosecutor can do a lot of damage up to and before the point of acquittal. That's one of the reasons for immunity in the first place-- to make sure the prosecutions never even get started.

Nominations can be a wild card and the risk is holding up a nomination until Trump takes office. McConnell is still minority leader and could potentially orchestrate a filibuster. Dems can't get rid of the filibuster because it's going to be a necessary tool for the next 2-4 years. I could be wrong about Senate procedure regarding judicial appointments, so take it with a grain of salt. Would be interesting to see play out. I'm surprised she's so old. She's always seemed young to me.
Let's move this convo to the right thread. I vaguely remember reading about a Justice in the 60s who resigned last minute to ensure the current president could pick his replacement before leaving office and it backfiring spectacularly where it didn't get done in time and the new president, of the opposing party, filled it instead.

Edit - it was Earl Warren
