  • LOL... Dems think they can just change the constitution with a pen stroke.

Yeah, if they are going to amend the constitution they need to put in term limits for themselves (congress) at the same time.... Otherwise, they can go F themselves with their election year bullsh*t. Funny coming from someone that was in the senate for like 40 years.

    • I oppose term limits...unless we're also redefining how the pension system works for former members of Congress.

        • I was curious that Gorsuch joined the dissent, but then upon a cursory reading, it seems in line with his jurisprudential philosophy that courts only need to do the minimum to fix a perceived problem. Note that there were 3 claims that all the court agreed on keeping the injunction. The 4 dissenters say that parts of the rule appear to have no bearing on the transgender issues from the record and that therefore the stay should be narrowed.

Without looking at the entire record that was considered, I tend to agree with the dissent that any injunctions should be only broad enough to address the potential harms shown. 5 said that the harms shown justify the total injunction.

          • Ok so with the renewed indictment against Trump, will everyone who hyperventilated about the SCOTUS immunity decision admit they were either freaking out unnecessarily or being deliberately disingenuous?

Jack Smith reindicted on most of the original charges. Something that was sworn to me by many Defenders of DemocracyTM would not be possible due to the tyranny of the SCOTUS decision.

                • So do the people who supported the immunity decision still support it knowing trump can't held liable for anything he does for 4 years?

I didn’t support the decision necessarily, but it isn’t an accurate statement that he can’t be held liable for ANYTHING. There are some things he can’t be held liable for, which could be a little scary.

No one said he couldn't reindict without a careful revision. You're making that up.

Yeah, and it is safe for Thomas and Alito to retire given it looks like the GOP'ers will control the senate as well... Replace them with some young conservative judges.

Hell, might as well pack the court with a half dozen more young judges too like the Dems were threatening to do.

Ted, you sound like you're rooting for fascism. Have you at least changed your party affiliation?

Like most of America I am sick of all the Dems'/progressives' BS... Libertarians, like me, have warmed up to Vance and his ideas:

Cannabis decriminalization was something made more progress with democrats than republicans. Project 2025 is against that, which despite Trump pinky-sweating he never heard is very much a thing that influence his administration.

You can't be a libertarian in principle and support Trump. It doesn't compute. He is all about taking power away from other entities and researching for the executive and is all about nanny statist perspectives if it is an issue he likes. Vance isn't better, he is just more robotic.

I will let you in on a secret, RFK is pretty fucking stupid and Tulsi is a dictator loving grifter so I'm not sure how they have anything to do with libertarian ideals.

Ending the war on Ukraine isn't Trump's decision and it isn't necessarily a good thing. Bloodshed is awful. But abandon a country genuinely fighting for their existential survival to our primary global adversary isn't noble and will only serve to encourage more conflict. Look out Moldova, Poland, Baltics, Bosnia. It's already on fire across the coup-de-tat belt in Africa.

So, your solution is to actually do the dumb things the Dems just threatened to do..... Ok.
