    I swear sometimes y'all can't read.
Yeah I can read just fine. We know you like to post things without thinking them through-- you're forgiven.

Let me hold your hand and help you a little bit. The U.S. lost about 50k+ lives over a 20 year span in Vietnam. This caused much upheaval and was very divisive in the U.S. (You can check out a lot of informative books about the Vietnam conflict at your local library for elaboration) Estimates say that Russia has lost twice that in the last year alone- about 40x worse than Vietnam, right? It is hard to imagine the average Russian continuing to stand by Putin and this massacre for much longer.

One of the most remarkable things about this war is how the Russians have become more loyal to Putin rather than less. Persecution complex seems to be a part of the Russian DNA.

Seems like a weird fascist agenda. But then, I've never really understood fascists.

Based on what I know of their culinary leanings, I figured no force would be required for the Brits to feast on squirrels.

It is probably an improvement on their normal fare.

                      • The fight for Bakhmut is different than previous engagements where Russian forces were able to overwhelm by their vast numbers. Ukraine has opted to reinforce the city and make a stand. Looks like their tactical withdrawl only went as far as across the river that runs through the city. Russia's push has stalled in the Eastern portion of the city. Ukraine is buying time for their Spring offensive and bleeding Russian forces.

Both sides have admitted to suffering and inflicting significant losses in Bakhmut, while the exact number of casualties is difficult to independently verify.

British military intelligence said on Saturday that Russia's Wagner mercenary group has taken control of most of the eastern part of Bakhmut - an advance that the group's founder Yevgeny Prigozhin claimed on Wednesday.

"In the city centre, the Bakhmutka River now marks the front line," the British Defence Ministry said in its daily intelligence bulletin.

Ukraine insisted that it was holding on in Bakhmut and was giving a "decent rebuff" to Russian forces, with the commander in charge of defending Bakhmut saying its protection was key for a Ukrainian counter-strike.

"It is necessary to gain time to accumulate reserves and start a counter-offensive, which is not far off," the military cited Colonel general Oleksandr Syrskyi as saying on Saturday.
