A pretty revealing and impactful report from VICE, posted today, about the Russian reaction to mobilization. This is very well done and worth watching; it's low on opinion by the journalists and high on Russian's commentary on the war. The dad of the recruit named Vasily is especially heartbreaking and sounds like how many of us might be if a draft were suddenly ennacted here:

Video purports to be condition inside a Russian camp for recruits. It looks like that tent prison in Arizona, only dirtier. https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarV...that_keeps_on/"Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. WARNING: SHOWS LIKELY FATALITIES
Sparta Battalion (Donetsk irredentist militia, pro-Russian) video of dropping grenades on Ukrainian troops. https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFoota...nian_infantry/
One thing about the Sparta Battalion, when they post a video, it always shows someone being slaughtered or badly wounded. They are notoriously violent and ruthless and glorify members who exhibit those qualities in combat.
This video is pretty damned ruthless."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

PaloAltoCoug, don't watch this unless you want to cry. Everyone else, same thing, only I get the feeling this will overwhelm him (No violence, only innocence lost):

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Yall go watch this right now! Amazing, astounding, FIRST-PERSON footage of an Su-25 being shot down, the pilot bailing, looking back to see plane explode, and then landing in the same field, all in a few seconds. No deaths.

NYT Crossword Clue yesterday (4 letters) was "How many UN members start with a 'W'?" I spent a good thirty seconds thinking before I realized it wasn't "four" or "five" but "none.'Originally posted by Bo Diddley View Post
Haha. Yep, I should have thought about it. My first thought was that there was a country I had never heard of. How could that be?"Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

Ukrainians are banging the gong that the Soviet Union was the nation given permanent member status on the UN Security Council, and since they were members of the Soviet Union, like many other countries also were, the Russian Federation doesn't have sole claim to the seat given to the Soviet Union. They hold that it should be removed from the Security Council. It's an interesting argument, but it would take a lot more for the politicians to make that move."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. Russia likely culprit in severing of several undersea cables near France, and possibly in cutting off the Shetland Islands from the world (effectively). This would follow the pattern of their attack on the pipelines in the Baltic Sea. They are attempting to sow discord in Europe, cause unheavals and unrest, so that the citizenry compels their leaders to "negotiate" for peace.
Ukraine isn't having it. I get the feeling that Zelensky would rather die a martyr/hero than let the Russians take an inch of Ukrainian land. He swears that he won't negotiate peace until even Crimea is back in their control.
