Suspect arrested after man is shot at Albuquerque protest
A tiny Ohio town’s Black Lives Matter event was overrun by armed counterprotestersThe Albuquerque Police Department said it arrested Steven Ray Baca, 31, the morning after shoving and shouting erupted at a protest in downtown Albuquerque, where demonstrators were trying to topple the monument to Juan de Oñate, and armed civilians — including members of a local militia — were trying to stop them.
Police have charged Baca with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, a felony, according to a criminal complaint. It named Scott Williams, who was shot multiple times in the torso, as his victim.
But the 80 or so expected demonstrators ended up dwarfed Sunday afternoon by some 700 counterprotesters — motorcycle gangs, “back the blue” groups and proponents of the Second Amendment, village officials said. Some carried rifles, a local news station reported, while others brought baseball bats and clubs. Here is some video from that same peaceful protest where one of the antifa kids gets shot after chasing down one of these dudes and started to beat him up with a skateboard. The antifa kid apparently pulled a knife. The dude pulled his gun and shot him.
