Not sure I'd classify him as a 'boogeyman,' but I do know that he is genuinely a bad person who cleaned up his image for political office. He is a nonstarter for any office of consequence. He's doing enough damage in Florida as it is.

No, you're guilty of a logic fail for false equivalence.

Then you have hte swing voters that like some of what he did policy-wise and then some voters that don't like Biden so they vote Trump.

But, I have learned, to not underestimate Trump and his base after they won in 2016. I still think Trump loses again in 2024 despite where the polls are at today, but I'm also frustrated that the Democrats aren't doing what they need to do to solidify Trump losing. Biden is a very weak and vulnerable candidate and they knew that a year or more ago. An open primary would have been the best solution but the Democrats again aren't listening to reason and are instead wheeling out their weekend-at-Bernies candidate. It'll be a nail-biter again but Biden will win.

FTR, I'm voting in the GOP primary adn will likely vote for Haley. I'll then vote for Biden over Trump, but it won't matter since I live in Texas and Trump will easily win Texas...again.
You get it right. Trump doesn't have an outsized portion of the Republican base. What he does have is a large percentage of Republicans that will never vote for Biden. The Dems can't get out of their own way and offer up a reasonable candidate. If Trump wins you can just as easily blame the Democrat leadership as you can Republicans.

Just stop with the Gavin Newsome as viable. He's less palatable than Biden.

if youre willing to vote for trump. and voted for trump, how can you blame democrats for trump with a straight face?

maybe the Rs should worry about getting a good candidate on their own. and maybe say mea culpa on putting in him office.

You guys are funny. Newsome has tons of baggage. I think he is an amazingly talented debater and it would be interesting to see how he would fare on a national stage (which is why the dems should have done an open primary), but stop with the woodshed talk. Biden should woodshed trump, but it isn't happening.

Come on. You are smarter than this. One of the main reasons we have Trump is because the dems gave us one of the most disliked candidates in history - Hillary Clinton.

Biden has terrible job approval numbers. Even a majority of democrats don't want him as their candidate in 2024.

Absolutely he would. Since the advent of TV the better looking candidate has always won, I've noticed. Trump is getting trounced by -- insert name here---/
