I can't believe we are having this conversation. Stupid democrats. How hard is it to run a decent candidate?
You are so effing naïve. Do you really think that if Trump is elected it will ever get to the point where judges will make a difference? Do you think there will be a peaceful transition of power? Do you think there will not be warfare? Good hell, I hate guns, but if June rolls around and Trump is still alive, I'm going to start to stockpile.

couldn't you ask the same question about any political candidate and answer in the affirmative? there are crazy people backing every candidate.

Jan 6 was commited by people who wanted to keep him in power. No one was killed. A Bernie supporter opened fire on the entire GOP baseball team. A potential doesn't mean an inevitability. Trump is dangerous and so are his supporters. But they aren't a majority in this country, even if he is elected back into office. I still beleive in the institutions enough to withstand him.

            • how many other candidates had supporters storm the capital to prevent transition of power ? and then gained support and are talking about killing and removing enemies and still getting even more support?

the only reason it didnt succeed is because of people in admin who wouldnt allow it to happen

this time he wont have anyone in the admin who doesnt support his supreme leader candiancy. heck, the current speaker of the house would welcome it.

I think you'll be surprised by the people who will join to try to keep him in check, if he is elected.

Can I get an irony ruling on this based on it coming right after NS’s post on stock piling arms?
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. If you think anything that I’ve said in this thread demonstrates support or sympathy for Donald Trump, then I would say you have lost your mind. You and NS need to get some help.

I'm voting for Haley or Christie in the primary.

I think Jan 6th was a combination of right-wing nutballs and well-meaning dopes who got caught up in the day and made a mistake. The law has caught up with most of them and they are paying for their stupidity. The country as a whole was never in danger, the transfer of power was never in danger, and it doesn't qualify as a true insurrection. An actual insurrection would have been carefully planned out and executed with deadly results and much more far-reaching implications.
