It’s the most inclusive American institution and it’s been that way since before Zak Efron and HS Musical. What did you expect them to do? They are the largest employer in the state of FL with thousands of employees that are part of the LBGTQ community that have spouses and children that are directly impacted by the DSG bill.

Just because you fell for the culture war craziness that DeSantis started doesn’t mean they are unreasonable for saying they were opposed to said bill.

Admit it, you fell for the woke cultural war craze, defended it, and now to feel better you have to both sides Diz/DeSantis as if they are even close to being equally wrong. Lulz.

You seem desperate to make this a debate about the merits of the bill rather than the point I actually made. Typical.

Disney is a private company and they are more than welcome to join culture wars if they want. I think it was a dumb strategic move. You pretend that they had no choice. Nonsense. Netflix is a bigger company than Disney and they were smart enough to not get sucked in.

In what way is Netflix a bigger company than Disney? I can't find a metric where Netflix would be considered bigger. Or are you making an expression like "Netflix was the bigger man"?

          My bad. Google error.

Either way, Netflix is a huge company.

"A big yikes" and "lulz" really give your parroted MSNBC talking points an air authority.

As much as reactionaries want to paint it this way, this isn't a straight black and white issue. DeSantis and Disney both stepped in it and now they are dealing with the fall out. The funny thing here is the suggestion that JL is a DeSantis admirer. Just pure blinding partisanship.

            • I would describe both Netflix and Disney as companies that are struggling currently to "keep it together".

Open letters and contentious objecting employees are a problem that all big companies are struggling to deal with.

I agree that Netflix has the better approach, but definitely has its own negative repercussions.

The DSG bill and people, twisting themselves into believing it was anything other than political theater, is the definition of blinding partisanship.

DeSantis wasn’t trying to pass meaningful legislation to protect minors, he passed a bill so that on Fox interviews and podium speeches he could scream groomers to anyone who opposed his bill.

The conservatives in the country, including many here, fell for the bull shit because something something woke ideology.

Should I not fly Delta anymore because they pumped a bunch of money to back election deniers? No, because I’m a grown up who can synthesize nuance and understands what’s going on and why a company like Delta might cut a check to Chris Stewart. Diz wades in on a 80/20 issue and you act like it’s 1994 and they are lobbying for gay marriage.

Can you imagine how much safer Mexico would be with bombs dropping from the sky all the time? Brilliant!

Disney didn't step in anything. They have a large lgbt employee base and spoke up for them

Corps are people. This is no different from DeSantis going after an individual for expressing an opinion and then you defending it by saying the person shouldn't have talked

do oyu admit it is a contradiction to be ok with the church opining and not be ok with disney opining?

I never once said that Disney didn't have a right to wade into the political arena. I said I believe it was a dumb decision on their part.

And if you think the LDS church is highly involved politically, you don't get out much.
