And DeSantis hasn’t even seen the bright lights of the nation, he’s toast.
I saw that pudding ad... it's the dumbest thing I have seen in years. Fox is correct in saying Drumpf is worried about DeSantis.

Meanwhile, Karl Rove—former White House deputy chief of staff under President George Bush—called the ad “stupid.” Rove also noted the ad has implications for the 2024 Republican primaries.

“Donald Trump is worried about Ron DeSantis,” Rove added. “Otherwise, why would he be out there now before DeSantis is even a candidate?”

Yeah, I don't see him overtaking trump.

Disney was stupid to wade into politics.

            Both sides!!!!

What was Diz’s crime? They opposed one bill that was passed for political theatrics and to raise the political profile of DeSantis.

A bill that most sane people would disagree with, as written, regardless of political stripe.

It’s weird to see so many Utahns batter Diz over this considering the role the church plays in politics and their agreement with Mitt about corporations being people.

Whether it was a dumb bill or not, it was stupid of them to weigh in on a political manner as a corporation in Florida. Prior to that time, they stayed neutral on politics. Given all of the problems they are having now, that is an objective observation.

Lol. Come on. You can do better than that.

They didn't wade into politics. And besides, corporations are people right?
Stop pretending it is both sides, and pretending desantis cares if companies wade into politics is buying his propaganda. he doesnt care. he cares if they disagree with him.

Well Christie is running and he’s going to Marco DeSantis.

Disney didn't initially wade into the bill issue until a unified campaign from the left pushed them into it. Disney's initial instinct was correct. Of course Disney has the right to jump into politics. Whether or not it was wise from a business standpoint is another issue. Disney inserted itself into a contentious culture war issue and is getting culture warred back, as is the nature of things. But we agree that Desantis is a performative crank.

Are you drunk? They most certainly did wade into politics.

I said what they did was stupid, not unethical or illegal. Stop it with the strawmen.

By contrast, companies like Netflix and Trader Joe's smartly drew a line in the sand when people tried to drag them into culture wars.

From a business perspective, the LGBTQ+ community is a big set of loyal customers that spend a shitload of cash. Having lived in the shadow of the mouse ears for nearly 25 years, my observation is if there is one issue that Disney cares about, it's the flow of cash into the Scrooge McDuck coffers. No doubt their position is altruistic, but Disney also does not want to lose out on the money the LGBTQ+ community brings.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

                          • I don't think Disney's MO is to 'wade into politics.' . However, Desantis' authoritarian idiocy probably warrants at least a statement of opposition to that bill or proposed bill from a major gay-friendly corporation in Florida. Desantis' instinct to actively silence dissent is all you need to know about him. This is the guy who would weed out women on dates by purposely pronouncing words wrong and ending the date if the woman corrected him. He doesn't belong anywhere near the reins of an executive government position. Desantis doesn't have to respond to Disney at all, but his nazi impulses force him to.

                              Ding, ding, ding.

JL is only saying this because he defended the ‘don’t say gay bill’ which was a big yikes.

Even Trump knows it was PR:
