Not the worst, but getting worser!
https://newrepublic.com/post/171137/...source=TwitterSenate Bill 1718, part of Desantis’s broad repressive legislative agenda this year, targets not just undocumented people but also anyone associated with them. The bill, which is likely to pass the Republican-controlled state legislature, criminalizes anyone who transports an undocumented person “into or within this state.” In other words, anyone—co-worker, friend, neighbor, classmate—giving a simple ride to someone they know or care about who is undocumented would be guilty of a third-degree felony."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

This thread is interesting because it does seem to be heavily focused on social issues much more so than fiscal issues.
Maybe it's because it's tax season or maybe it's the slimmer margins my household has due to inflation, but unless there are drastic changes over the next 18 months, I will vote for the candidate who has the most reasonable fiscal policy regardless of their stance on social issues. I'm tired of the culture wars and I'm incredibly tired of the current administration's lack of spending discipline. I hope a more moderate Dem can challange him.

Has either party showed fiscal restraint? I fail to see the moral high ground anywhere.Originally posted by USUC View PostThis thread is interesting because it does seem to be heavily focused on social issues much more so than fiscal issues.

And I'm curious what "culture war" issues the dems are raising. It seems that all activity on that front is coming from the repubs trying to ban books. stifle open discussions in schools, and use illegal immigrants as pawns in their fight to secure the border. Again, "I come from the freed state of Florida." What a joke.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

Nope. Neither has. Trump was terrible and still espouses awful fiscal positions. Biden threw gas on a fire the GOP started.Originally posted by Bo Diddley View Post

Again, I will vote for whoever has a more reasonable fiscal platform despite their other terrible social takes. If that's Jared Polis, he'll get my vote.

Republicans stopped caring about fiscal constraint loooong before Trump. I would be interested in an analysis of spending by party going back the last 25-30 years.Originally posted by USUC View Post

GWB was awful. And not just because of the war spending. The last fiscally conservative president we had was Clinton.Originally posted by Bo Diddley View Post
