The Seniors Club at my home course sponsors two tournaments a month. The event in early June is medal play, but participants are allowed to carry only four clubs. We used to screw around like this in high school, picking a single club that we had to use on each hole, etc. I'm curious what clubs you'd recommend. The course isn't terribly long, so I'll probably pack a driver and putter (I think those are given), along with a 7 and a SW. Not sure if a ball scoop counts toward the total.

I would go 3W, 4H, 7I, SW. Using the 4H to putt helps me out a bunch. I wouldn't take a driver, because it can only be used on 14 shots total. On the long par 5's you may wish you had a 3W. But...there is truly only about a 15 yard difference for me between Driver/3W...so it really isn't that big of a loss.

I'd go 7 wood, 7 iron, 56*, putter.

Under those conditions, I bet I'd shoot my handicap just as easy.

After some careful thought, I would carry my 3 hy-bred (lol, I don't know the spelling and hy-bred sounds like selective breeding), 8 iron, just because I hit it much better than my 7, if I hit the 7 well that would be the club, pitching wedge and putter

2-3 years ago when we went my FiL and I played Disney Lake Buena Vista 3 times during the trip. It was a fun course, resort golf not really challenging but also not going to make any top lists anytime soon. It was around $100, not sure what your budget is though.

That's about the budget. We're staying at the Grande Vista, which has a course, but my friend has asked me to look into these courses:

Stony Brook
Cocoa beach country club river course

Stay and play at La Quinta next week with a bunch of buddies. Our tee times are early but we are still going to get roasted. Four days of golf and poker. Can't wait.

Good golf still eludes me. In the last 12 months I've been as low as a 14.5 the went through a bad stretch and was up to - 20.7 and now I'm at an 18.3. I can't seem to put a good round together. In my last 10 rounds I have scores that range from mid to high 80's to 102. I know I have the skill to go low (relatively speaking) but just can't seem to get it together for a complete round. Super frustrated.

Oh. And I dropped the 102 when Tick dropped the 80. That felt good. Played today. Shot 98. 1 birdie, 4 pars, 4 bogeys, and 9 holes double or worse (4 doubles, 5 trips). Only hit 2 fairways and 4 greens.

I played yesterday and shot even on the front 9. Rolled off 9 straight pars and I didn't make any long putts. I was real consistent tee to green and a two putt. Only had to scramble once and I put my chip about 2 feet away for a tap in par.

Back 9 was I different story. I bogey the first 8 holes before missing a 3 foot birdie putt on 18 that would have given me a 79. Shot an 80.

Disappointing.
