Ok, since my last post when I was wallowing in self pity, I have started to play a little better. I figured out my driver and though I don't have the length off the tee I used to have, I am much more accurate. Last 5 rounds have been 89, 88, 85, 86, 85. I'll drop from an 18.0, to a 15.6 when the next GHIN update rolls around. In other golf news, my husband requested a punch card from Valley View in Davis for his birthday. I'm not familiar with the course, and I certainly didn't want to drive all the way over there to buy the punch card, so I googled "Valley View - Davis" and called the number listed on the website. I bought it over the phone, paying for it with a credit card and arranging for it to be mailed to my home. Five minutes after hanging up, I got this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, so I called the clubhouse back and asked, "I just bought a punch card about 5 minutes ago. Is this Valley View Golf Course?"
The guy answered, "Nope- It's Davis Golf Course."
"Oh Crap...umm..."
The guy interrupts me: "But the punch card is good at either course, so you're okay."

I'm in the minority on this, but I actually prefer the track at Davis to the one at VV. I haven't been to Davis since the big wind storm that blew over so many trees. Maybe that would change my opinion, but without factoring that in, I prefer both Bountiful Ridge and Davis to Valley View.Originally posted by Katy Lied View Post

I really like both courses. Davis for me is a bit more relaxing as it is easier. Valley View for me is quite a test. I played Davis when it was first built. It was a 9 hole course and the first nine built is the back nine now.Originally posted by Katy Lied View Post

I've got to go with VV. I think with a really well designed course you should be able to look back on it and remember what the holes actually looked like and other than 13 and 14, which kind of blend into each other, I think VV does a great job of this.
