Our 4th of July tournament is a two day, 3rd and 5th. It is a best ball except both balls count on the par 3's. My partner was very understanding when I posted a 7 on the first par 3. I parred the other 3, but that put us in a hole. We are 7 shots out of the lead.

Here is my score for Friday after work:
http://clubsg.skygolf.com/golfers/score.php?id=1945763
Shot 92.
I have 9 rounds straight in the 90's. 1 more and I am a 90's golfer in my book.
I was so close to 89 it was crazy. I had 6 pars in 7 holes. Just had a few holes that didn't work out.
Playing again tomorrow.

Dang junkie, I wish I had known this earlier. I went out this morning and my friends and I needed a fourth as one of them canceled just before tee time.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostAll of my friends suck, I wanted to try and get out and play today (have the day off) and none of them can go.
I played terribly today. Shot a 93. Ugh."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

So FN Phat and me took on my old man and my little bro in some friendly best ball. We won, 91-92. Ouch. We had only 2 pars and 1 birdie. We just each seemed to shank the ball on the same shot which killed us.
Anyway, last night I downloaded SkyDroid for my cell phone. I thought about going with the GolfLogix app but decided $1.99 sounded a lot better than $39.99. So I figured what the hell. They have lots of courses mapped out already, but you're able to map it out yourelf using Google Maps. It took me about 10 minutes to do and was rather simple. Once it was done it was uploaded and I downloaded the course to my phone. One reason the course we played probably wasn't mapped was because they have GolfLogix GPS units in the carts. So this was a good way to test the accuracy of the app and my cellphone GPS. Well I was blown away. My cell phone was within a yard of the cart GPS all day and in fact on one hole the cart's GPS was way off and it was nice to have my cell phone in that instance. I was worried about the battery life so I actually took a fully charged backup battery but after 4+ hours of golf and using it once or twice per hole my batter still had about 75% of its battery left. They are planning to add a scorecard and additional features with the next update. Right now it's just a last shot tracker and rangefinder. But it does those things extremely well. If you have an Android phone and are an avid golfer I highly recommend this app. At $1.99 it's a bargain. Check it out: www.skydroid.net"Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

You do know that there are yardage markers along courses so you know the distance to the green, no?Originally posted by Surfah View PostSo FN Phat and me took on my old man and my little bro in some friendly best ball. That's more than enough for me. I have a good idea about how far I hit each club, so I have a good idea what my distance is after each shot.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostDepends on what course........Seems like all the ones in utah county have a 150 stick and thats it."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

If I were that consistent off the tee then it wouldn't be a big deal. But when I can bomb a drive 320 one hole, duff it 75 yards the next, and then spray it into the neighboring fairway on the following hole, a rangefinder helps quite a bit.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostThat's more than enough for me.
