After shooting a 90 today...I am thinking of playing in the tournament also.

Walked 18 with The_Tick today. Nice sunny hot day, but being as we both have been exercising more, we decided to walk. Felt good all day, legs felt great, and the sweat pouring off me felt great!

Everything seemed to work today. My drives for the most part were long and straight. My approach shots within 100 were spot on. The last 2 rounds, my 60° wedge has been on fire. Anyways, shot the best round of my life today. 42+41=83. I finished bogey, double. I screwed myself when I looked at my score after 16. I was sitting at 72 and started with the what ifs...I had hopes of finishing par par (par 3 and 5) for an 80 and my first 9 under 40, couple that with being worn out and two bad tee shots, it wasn't meant to be.

It is funny how I can shoot one of my worst scores 2 days ago, now have my best round ever.

Thanks! It feels good to get a good round under the belt after my last few disasters.

DT you are bombing the ball off the tee. I have to ask how did you hit a 290 yard drive on hole 1, which is a 516 par 5. So you were only 225 out and it says you 2 putted. Where did the bogey come from?

Congrats by the way, 83 is a great, great score I am worried I am going to be the worst player at the CUF tourney.

              Chili dipped his 2nd shot.

I shot a 94. Not bad. I was out of gas by 16 though. Last 2 holes my arms felt like lead weights. Terrible.

Good day though. I will sleep hard tonight.

Hole 1 is a dogleg right. The dogleg starts at about 200 yards from the first tee. I normally can cut the corner, but this time I hit it dead straight. I was under a tree for my second shot, hit a low branch on my back swing and chunked it. 3rd shot was not spectacular. 4th was from 65 out and I 2 putted.

The Dr. that Mrs. DT works for invited me out to hit the links this afternoon, so I obliged. Second week in a row I walked. It was about 92 out with a slight breeze. I felt really good except now I am really sunburned.

I started out great and was 1 over after 5. Would have been even after 5 but I burnt the edge of the cup with my par putt on hole 3 from about 2.5ft. Hole 6 I pushed my drive right and had a blind second shot towards the green. It clipped a branch and the ball dove straight down. I skulled my third shot but luckily I rolled onto the green albeit about 60 feet from the hole. Lipped out my bogey putt for a double. Hole 7 I duffed my tee shot about 30 yards (barely passed to woman's tee's). Follow up was p. wedge to a bunker, and out of the sand to 6ft. I lipped the putt for a double. 8 and 9 I had great chips from just off the green. On 8, the putt stopped 1 turn from dropping and 9 lipped out. Both bogeys for a 43.

Starting on hole 9, my driver came alive. The drives were long and dead straight. I missed the fairway on 18 by 15ft to the right. Best driving round of my life.

I stuck my tee shot on 11 to about 8 feet and just missed the birdie. Hole 13 I was just right of the green after a shanked 2nd shot and then a hit my chip almost dead left. I somehow managed to end on the very edge of the green for a very long putt. Great lag to about 5 ft, then lipped out again. 14 I was on in 2. Putt was short of the hole but within 3 ft. I pushed it right passed the hole for a 3 putt bogey. 15 was another great drive, followed by an errant 2nd shot. 3rd was pin high but left of the green by about 10ft. My birdie chip to the hole was tracking and I thought it was going to drop. It did a 180 around the hole and I was left with a 6 incher for par. 18 found me pin high but right of the green after 2. I duffed my chip 8 ft, then my follow up came out hot and I thought I was going to burn the green but it had a little check up in it and stopped just before the fringe. About a 15 ft putt left for par and it lipped out for a tap in bogey and ended the 9 with a 44.

I am happy with how I played but if not for those damn missed putts and lip-outs, I could have gone real low. I am very happy with my game right now and hopefully I can bring my A game to Utah with me in 9 days

I played Gladstan on Saturday, front nine I shoot a 44.

                    Back 9 looked like this:

                    Par
                    Par
                    Par
                    Bogey
                    Bogey
                    Par
                    Birdie
                    Par
                    Triple

One of those does not belong. Par 5, 18th 560 yards. I put my drive right down the middle about 285. Pull out a 6 iron to lay up (Green completely surrounded by water) stick it perfect about 60 yards out. I hit my third and it hits the green which was like concrete bounces about 15 feet in the air right off the back of the green in to the water. So 3 in, 4 out. Still have a chance to save bogey, nope blade my chip way passed the hole, have a 50 footer coming back. Now I am lying 5 from 50 feet away. A 3 putt after that gives me an awesome snowman. I had a round in the 30s staring me in the face and I blew it big time.

I'm sorry, but I laughed. I'd rather get kicked in the nuts than take a triple.

How sad. Golf has become the never ending nightmare for me this year. My handicap has soared to a 16. One year ago it was a 5.

Wednesday I threw down a smooth 103. I haven't shot a score over 100 in 35 years. Fiday, I slowed it down and got back down to a 94.

Then on Saturday I really focused and threw down a 72. Of course we were playing a 1 man scramble, but now days I will take a score in the 70's even if it is at Lagoon.

Don't improve too rapidly in advance of next Friday's MegaBattle at Hobble. My game has been very dormant this year, with two rounds in the past three months. But I'm teeing off at the Olympic Lake course Wednesday morning, followed by the Del Mar Country Club next week. One hopes all the cycling and running I've done will compensate for not having swung a club in anger for several weeks.
