Not in my stake but pretty much a neighboring ward (we are on the stake boundaries). I know a couple people in that ward and everyone is absolutely heart broken. Very sad indeed.Originally posted by Green Monstah View Posthttp://abc13.com/news/suspect-charge...x-dead/172808/
Sickening. Victims may have been in Moliere's stake (although I think they're probably in the North stake). Not sure if the perp was Mormon, but his six victims were."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Sickening. Chicken shit didn't even have the guts to kill himself.
Mock me if you will but my faith in a Supreme Being gets tested every time I see one of these types of unconscionable acts."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

I'm not a Satanist, but somehow my faith in Satan increases. What drives evil? How can it be so focused like this?Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostSickening. Chicken shit didn't even have the guts to kill himself.

I've only been a father for a year but it has completely changed how I react to stories like these. It used to be rage. Now the rage is still there but it is buried beneath extreme sadness. My heart breaks and I feel like I can't breathe when I think of those poor children.

That girl who survived is a hero of the highest degree - who knows how many lives she saved - but she lost her entire family yesterday.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostI've only been a father for a year but it has completely changed how I react to stories like these. Yes, total hero. As more details emerge this things just seems more and more tragic. One thing I find interesting is how people not directly involved cope with the tragedy. Pretty much the day of the incident there was already a fundraiser happening for the surviving child (this was before anyone knew if she'd recover or not). As of now the fundraiser is over $100k: http://www.gofundme.com/Stay-Family-Tragedy . I'm sure many get solace from having at least done something even if it is just giving away $25. I can only imagine the fund will grow juch larger as social media takes this story to the entire LDS community.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostThat girl who survived is a hero of the highest degree - who knows how many lives she saved - but she lost her entire family yesterday.

The DesNews also ran a good article that gives a lot of the background of the shooter. Crazy story: http://www.deseretnews.com/article/8...m-ex-wife.html"Discipleship is not a spectator sport.
