I have a bit of a problem. I can't remember if the name I have in mind is my wife's or my ex-wife's. If it's my ex-wife's I'm not sure what my wife's is.

Hopefully at the real veil they have a guy there prompting me if I forget something, just like in the temple.

Your wife may tell you her name in the celestial room.

Why would someone pay tithing then? You have to have a carrot to get them to pay

Because its the only place sacred enough to perform certain ordinances.....well temples and the Mississippi River....and the red brick store.....and the endowment house.

                Several endowment houses, actually.

And a handful of wilderness areas. Ensign Peak comes to mind immediately.

Stake President and I had another 45 minutes, mostly talking about my lack of faith in priesthood blessings. He also signed my recommend.

                      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

There is nothing wrong with being honest and authentic with your priesthood leaders, just ask Portlandute. But you have to realize that you are throwing the dice and you may walk away empty handed or worse.
