Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Good point. Denying one's own innate sexuality can be difficult, so it is smart to get a head start.

Seriously though, one has to wonder if those who claim that 'homosexuality is a choice' can claim it to be a choice because they are drawn to the temptation, are disgusted by their own interest, fight their way through to the 'right choice', and are subsequently dismissive of those who are 'too weak' to make a similar choice?

      Just a thought.

That's my favorite argument for them. Go find a dude/gal you are attracted to.

        • My course was set the moment I saw Sharon Tate jumping on a trampoline in a movie. I was about 8. I've never looked back, or questioned my testimony of women.

(It's amazing what you can find on the internet.)

              • I learned in church yesterday (I knew it was coming, but lets go with yesterday to fit the thread) that I was released from my calling. With this and a couple of preceding callings (never Bishop, thank goodness) next Sunday will mark the first time in almost a decade that I will sit with my wife in the congregation during sacrament meeting. I look forward to that. I have already picked out the blue shirt I am going to wear.

My new calling is asst ward choir pianist. I am really only being called because they want my 14 yo son to be the ward pianist and he is a bit flaky (but a talented pianist), in a 14 yo sort of way, without some direct parental direction. I couldn't be happier. I will likely sleep more often in High Priests, but about the same in sacrament meeting.
                PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Congratulations on your promotion, something well-deserved I am sure.

Sucks that the Internet has such a long memory, doesn't it.

                    • I enjoy the manhattan ward. I'm here. Last time, the gal in front of me got up, went across the street and grabbed a Starbucks and came back, sipping on a latte during sac. Awesome

Today however there's a young family behind me that has two children that have no volume control. The dad said, just now, "it's nice to be reverent". I turned around and said, "it's nicer to teach some manners or at least take them out. I can't hear myself think."

They looked stunned but too bad.

I think someday you might regret that.

I'm a really nice person but I have no patience for children screaming constantly and parents who do nothing. It's not the typical
Mormon kid noise but totally ridiculous parents have no clue how rude they are noise.

Update: the cool speaker just said "oh, god yes" to a rhetorical question. The visiting tourists who feel compelled to go to church just gasped. Awesome

So let me get this straight... a woman openly flouting the Church's counsel (rubbing it in people's faces?) is "awesome", but having noisy young children means total strangers get to hassle you?
