Could be... I was testing my theory that the switch was bad while it was plugged in. Some of the other guys were freaked out about that and most likely ratted me out to the Church."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.
"I honestly believe saying someone is a smart lawyer is damning with faint praise. The smartest people become engineers and scientists." -SU.
"Yet I still see wisdom in that which Uncle Ted posts." -creek.

Well that stinks. Those big vacuums saved a lot of time. Somebody at Kirton and McConkie probably pushed this through."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

It's a good thing the Church has lawyers to protect the engineers from themselves."In conclusion, let me give a shout-out to dirty sex. What a great thing it is" - Northwestcoug

He started off talking about the principles of just war using the Book of Mormon (I refrained from bringing up Augustine's/Aquinas's just war theory). Things get a bit fuzzy in the middle because I zoned out (it's Apple's fault). When I came back, he was reading quotes from various prophets and general authorities about freedom and our nation's future, including a quote from the White Horse prophecy. There was also some political stuff thrown in for good measure. I'm a pretty conservative guy, but I felt like the lesson was too political and more negative than it needed to be.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostDetails, please.Not that, sickos.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

That actually works well if you think about it. You're free to offend people you don't like and be nice to those you do. All in harmony with gospel teachings!Originally posted by Moliere View PostIn GD I learned that we should be bold in discussing the gospel and not be afraid to offend people. In EQ I learned that we should be sensitive to people of other faiths and seek to not offend and just try to love them.
I also learned that persecution against Mormons is getting worse everyday and it will continue to get worse."It's true that everything happens for a reason. Just remember that sometimes that reason is that you did something really, really, stupid."

This explains the prevalent attitude down there... Man, I hate Utah County.Originally posted by FMCoug View PostPlan of Salvation Lesson in GD today.
Celestial Kingdom = Utah County
Terrestrial = Salt Lake County
Telestial = Las Vegas
Just because UC residents perceive things this way, sure doesn't mean it is this way.
If Utah County represents the Celestial Kingdom... I've miscalculated big time.

That's how I felt watching Sheriff Harry Lee (RIP) when I lived in NOLA. He has a quintessential NOLA accent. He was awesome*; listen to how pissed he was in this video.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostI learned today that our Asian high councilman can speak with a strong Texas accent. I was so mesmerized I don't recall what his talk was about now.
