But those are greatly modified and won't aid in addiction given they deleted many important details.

The policy of love is having an amazing effect in my ward. The hate and persecution complexes have never been articulated so clearly and directly. I'm so glad such things are protecting the children.

I made reference to loving our neighbors, and to 1 John 4:7. Two other members of my HPG spoke of gay family members and the need to love them.

It was all for naught. The teacher shifted, not so subtly, to a framework about the "lukewarm."

It was one of the worst church meetings I've ever participated in.

I learned that I'm not going to be the next bishop in my ward, neither will I be a counselor. Candor, guayaberas, and facial hair have served me very well, yet again.

We had stake conference. Pretty good meeting. It was the first conference for our new Stake President, other than the one in which he was called and sustained.

The theme of the meeting seemed to be building our foundation on the rock of Jesus Christ.

Sabbath observance was one of the topics. He emphasized that it is an individual family's choice as to what proper Sabbath Day observance means, and that we should be agreeing on what traditions for observance we want to have in our families. Also, that no one should be judging others over their choices.

He also touched on when we think that what the Bruthern say is off, we should study the issues and seek the Spirit, and not rush to condemn them.

I learned that the new 2nd counselor in the Bishopric rides the train to work sometimes, and that sometimes he sits by one of the stake high counselors.

Somehow they got talking about stake conference, and the 2C mentioned to the HC that the stake presidency shouldn't feel like they have to speak at all of the sessions of stake conference - it's OK if they call on some other stake members to speak instead.

HC - "I'm sure they would love to hear from someone else and not do all of the talking".

2C - "There is a 1000 people who would love that too."

I'm waiting to see if 2C is speaking in our next stake conference...

Yeah - I told 2C it was probably closer to 995; if you excluded the folks who would prefer to hear the stake presidency speak again if the alternative was speaking themselves.
