The Brody storyline was only planned for Season 1. I'm curious what will happen with season 3 and no Sgt. Brody.

I wrote it off as Brody texting the chick, to her texting someone, to Nazir.

Didn't seem that far fetched for me.

What does seem far fetched is this shows ability to last longer than 2 seasons. How does the jig keep going if important people in the CIA know about Brody? Which makes me sad as I really enjoy the show.

There is plenty far fetched in this show. But it is entertaining so I am able, for the most part, to compartmentalize it all.

Yeah that part is lame. They allow you to suspend disbelief through the motion that he may not be picked.

If the back story was West Point grad, green beret, etc, it could be believable but the back story has seemed Marine grunt, POW, simpleton. Nothing that screams VP talent.

I have a hard time getting past all of this, even though I like the show. I find Brody to be a fairly boring character anyway, lacking any charisma that would draw me to him. I certainly can't imagine him as the face and personality they'd try and trot before the American people to play the war hero card.

Damian Lewis will always be Dick Winters to me. My brain just can't handle him as a terrorist.

I didn't like them suddenly sending him off to be a taxi driver. He's too high profile to be an errand boy.

Good point. The more I think about it, the more I think they wussed out not killing Brody in season 1. Claire Danes and Saul (can't spell his real name) could have carried the show into a second season with any number of CIA inspired plot lines.

The flip side to that, though, is that we don't get to see Carrie's descent into madness -- at least not to the same extent anyway. And that's been by far the most compelling part about the show.

Another great episode next week could be a fantastic episode if done correctly.

One thing I've liked about Homeland is that they don't seem to waste episodes like so many other series.

Contrast it against Walking Dead tonight which was a complete waste of time and advanced zero story lines. Homeland seems to have purpose with every episode.

My wife said it was excellent. My wifi connection in my hotel sucks so I can't watch on slingbox. Can't wait to get home to see it.
