Thanks. I just skipped ahead to the last part.Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostChris Rock's special was underwhelming, but the last 5 minutes with him finally going off on Will Smith were pretty fun.

Comedy is better with the use of the f word. Just think how funny nate bargatze would be if he said the f word.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

Nate Bargatze is doing just fine without the F word. So are Brian Regan, Mike Birbiglia and Jim Gaffigan, some of the funniest comics out there. I love Chris Rock, and I have no problem with his profanity, because he's funny regardless and doesn't use the profanity as a crutch.Originally posted by MartyFunkhouser View Post

Yes, and include Jerry Seinfeld. I don't mind a well-placed (or British-inflected) F word, but as you note it's too often only a crutch with little if any wit.Originally posted by Non Sequitur View Post

Interesting segments on TV this morning. Black women aren't too happy with his repetitive use of the B-word for Jada Pinkett Smith."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I always thought a Philosophy of Comedy course would be interesting. With a pluralistic audience, how far is too far? When the audience is homogenous, how do the lines change? And more fundamentally, should there be restrictions on comedy at all?Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.

'This is Where I Leave You' was an ensemble comedy/drama that was pretty fun, but a bit rated R. Not too much, but fairly racy."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

Unstable with Rob Lowe had a strong first episode. Apparently the actor who plays his son is actually his son and he wrote the series. Rob Lowe plays an Elon Musk type who has been estranged from his son due to being overly critical. I thought it showed promise, but it got worse with each episode. I felt increasingly further out of the 18-34 demographic with each episode. Rob Lowe's parts were entertaining but beyond that it just made me feel old. I'd give the first episode a B, and the series itself a D.
