So I've been playing Star Wars Battlefront a bit-- haven't had a good session to really devote to it, but it's an amazing game. This game has been reviewed in spades, but my brief take: The visuals and sound are incredible, with amazing fidelity to the source material. The game has plenty of detractors, whose main beef is lack of a story mode. I agree with this sentiment since that's mainly what I do with FPSs. However, the online battle mode is so much fun and addictive that I really don't miss it for the time being. There are probably too many kinds of battle modes that I would trade for a single player mission, but

They are releasing a series of DLC, including "the battle of Jakku" the first of December, which is supposed to add context to the Force Awakens- smart cross promotion. I don't know if this is supposed to be another multiplayer battle mode or a couple chapters of story mode, but I'm interested.

The dogfight mode is pretty fun as well. It's not quite as fun as Rogue Squadron since I feel like there's neither the same sense of objective purpose or control over the craft as I would prefer re: acceleration and deceleration, but it's cool flying around blowing up spaceships. The silver lining is that this release will provide a pretty solid template and jumping off point for the inevitable sequel that will hopefully include a great story mode and more stand alone content to enjoy offline.

Yeah. The survival mode is about as close as it gets and is actually pretty fun, all things considered.

We have an Xbone. I like it. The new Halo is pretty sweet. My son is a Halo geek and he is absolutely loving it.
