I have to wonder what is deal with all these mass birds and other animal deaths going on. Maybe it has something to do with the secret UFO battle we are fighting.

Faith is camping with her students, which means that Little Robin and I are living off of Papa John's Pizza (within walking distance from our pad) and fizzy beverages. At the table last night, after a large gulp of a cola product, I let fly a huge belch, to which Little Robin responded, "Better out than in!" A few seconds later he looks up to me and asks, "Dad, I get the 'out' part, but what the hell is 'in'?".

Excellent thinking. Hope this actually happened.Originally posted by nikuman View PostIf you are Chinese and are moving to America and you are picking out an anglicized name, Odysseus is a pretty kick-ass name to choose. Doubly so if you work at a theme park that makes you wear a nametag all day.

My wife asked me this morning if scientists ever figured out why all those birds died en masse. I had no answer and really don't care all that much (especially not enough to look it up myself) but if one of you has an answer it might give me something to talk about with my wife tonight. We've run out of topics. TIA"Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

Half of Steely Dan's music is out-of-this-world phenomenal, and the other half, well the other half is boring as hell, and I can't stand it. I'm not a fan of their oeuvre, but I do own some of their songs, and I love those songs as much as anything in my collection.

I accept that you love them, and that you don't regret your ca. 1973 tattoo, but this is merely a subjective reaction to their work, and not an indictment of your tastes, for which, like mine, there's little, if any, accounting.Originally posted by creekster View PostAS often happens, I think you're half right.
"Do It Again" is one for the ages. I played it on a road trip with students and they were dancing in the bus aisle.
