Glad to have the reroof completed before the wet weather though.
I love having 4 distinct seasons. The change to each brings positives and negatives. I like getting out the long sleeve shirts and sweaters, spendings evenings with a warm fire, the chill exercising outside. Having less daylight is the biggest negative for me, but that happens all over the northern hemisphere.

      • How much snow have you had with this storm? In SoJo we had 15" on the flat driveway. Drifts up to 4 feet. Probably the most snow in one snowfall I've seen in the 16 years we've lived here.

          • I miss big winter storms. There are definitely benefits to living in a place with very mild winters (it has now been more than 400 days since our last snow accumulation of 1 inch), but I miss just holing up inside and watching it come down.

My ideal winter would be 2 very large and 2-4 medium storms between December 23 and January 31. Then on Feb 1 it starts warming up and the average daily high from Feb 15 to June 15 is 68 degrees.

Let me know if you are aware of anyplace like this.

That is actually pretty close to what i have.

We get maybe one or two snowstorms a year. This weekend we are expecting a foot of snow. But it was 68 on Monday. It gets cold at night here, often in the 20s but it will warm up to the 60s in the day. Of course by June the average high is closer to 85 or 90.

So "when Hell freezes over" really is an apt statement isn't it?

                      • Couple of inches of snow on the ground in Bend. This winter has been good for snow. I obsessively check the snowfall at mt. Bachelor. Not for snowboard planning (still haven’t gone this season), but for forecasting next summer’s fire season. Just keep that snow coming.

you'd love the small cycling community here. Housing is too expensive, though where isn't it nowadays. Worst thing here is the medical care. It does get windy in the spring, though no windmills.
