4-star JUCO RB (and former USC commit) Michael York and 3-star JUCO DT Niasi Leota signed their LOI's for Utah this week. JUCO OT Alex Ceachir reportedly decommitted in favor of the Bruins.

York is a really nice signing. He'll be able to complement JWIV and possibly afford Harvey Langi a redshirt season. On the flip side, Ceachir is a painful loss because we're losing both starting tackles.

Ceachir mention losing Chow? Just wondering what effect that is having, if any on offensive recruits.

Former SC commit Michael York signs with the Utes?

In related news, actor Kelvin York out of Fullerton signs on for another Austin Powers movie and announces a sequel to Logan's Run.

York's a great addition to the running game. 5'10", 220 lbs. (and perhaps heavier) with great speed. We'll have a punishing RB again.

Ceachir is a loss. The coaches will looking hard for tackles.

It's true that York was offered by USC. But Kiffin has not been recruiting up to historical standards, maybe because of limited scholarships. USC ought to be expected to be in the top 5-6 of ESPN rankings every season. Also, on the top 50 JUCO rankings there are USC recruits ranked lower than York's no. 8.

The last two kids SC was pursuing that wound up at Utah were Langi and Cullen.

Best of luck to you, Michael York.

Wouldn't Langi start looking really hard at a mission if asked to redshirt?

If he wants to serve a mission, that would be the time to serve one.

I'm pretty sure he can still serve a mission if he wants.
