Of course I can take it. It's isn't hard to take somebody thinking we are talking about Gary freakin' Anderson when we mean Lance. But sometimes I don't want it (I choose not to use the royal 'we.') Besides, are you afraid he won't come back? Don't worry; he'll be back. He LOVES the extra attention. It's why he's here.PLesa excuse the tpyos.

SU's certitude in spite of his occasional cluelessness about sports is one of his most endearing features.Originally posted by creekster View PostOf course I can take it. You think they're just lining up their ducks so they can make one big announcement?Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostNo, there could be reasons.
I could be wrong, but I just feel like Sitake would mean a lot to our recruiting. I frequently see Polynesian patients at work, and most say they love BYU, but they love Sitake more and that's why so many kids went to Utah to play for him. I feel like it could bridge some of the talent issues we've had, especially in the trenches, and I'm not sure KN has the same pull in the community. These families just love Sitake and say he makes their kids feel like family.
That's why I'm high on Sitake, and I think many of us have wanted him back at BYU.Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

I'm glad you are so enamored with it. Isn't there a wuap-created greatest hits thread somewhere for your enjoyment? I'm not sure whether Anderson is even realistic. If he is, he would be an excellent choice, preferable to Sitake or Ken N IMO. He's coached under Harbaugh.Originally posted by I.J. Reilly View PostI too see the lack of buzz. I don't think that necessarily weighs all that heavily into whether he would be a good hire.
Eleven years as head coach is a really long tenure in today's environment. I'm not sure why people feel shafted. He was one of the top ten tenured coaches in the country and we had a good run. Let him get paid. Let him take on the new challenge that he seems so keen to. Not every coach needs to be a lifer. Not even the top programs in the country get that.
Bronco wasn't a BYU guy before he was the DC for two years. And didn't Anderson attend BYU for a year?Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

What if we let them stay on the condition that they provide us with trigger warnings?"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Whatever. Sort of like trying to keep LAUte or BYU71 or some of the others away, I guess. But, hey, if you are afraid of missing a moments endearment from SU's sports lunacy, then may he post at will. As for me, he can GTFO. This isnt speaker's corner, this isnt a university. This isn't a Ute-themed board, as was made abundantly clear by the name change. So why should I need to be worried about his (or any Ute's) little whinings about this topic?Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Postlol. Creekster demanding a safe zone.
On balance I just want to know who the next coach is. But assuming it is either Sitake or Anderson (that's LANCE, not GARY) I am more concerned about the OC than the DC.PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Good hell. Can we stop all the panty waist nanny goating?
Sitake has never been the BMOC, and until he steps into that role, no one knows how he will run things. We all trust our own unorthodoxies.

I'm gratified that you all agree with me that Gary Andersen is not a prospect.
I have no opinion about Lance Anderson other than to wonder if he is a candidate anywhere else, and if not why not, since Stanford's defense has been strongly admired and Stanford is a marquis program. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

I plead guilty to not knowing the name or religious affiliation of Stanford's defensive coordinator until today.
