Nope. Just how I see it at the moment. Maybe when the new hire is announced, I will feel different, but right now it's a cluster mess with no light in the tunnel. The already small pool of potential HC hires now excludes Bevell and Anae. KenN isn't a good pick. So we have Sitake and Anderson as the likely choices and a lot of new position coaches (that are actually good) to find fast. Sorry, I won't put any lipstick on the pig.

He's not going to go put Bronco's outhouse in order. Apart from the fact that BYU is not P5, and all the other nonsense and baggage associated with that job, taking a job that Bronco left behind would be like failing. Kyle hates Bronco. If anything what Bronco did will inspire Kyle to go actually get a job at someplace like Tennessee for more than $3.25 million.

Our chances against Utah are essentially nil right now so Tommy needs to shove his tasseled loafer so far up Broncos ass he ruins the pleats on his dockers. At least do something mildly proactive to project control. Letting Bronco coach the bowl game seemed like a harmless good faith gesture, but letting that asshole use our conference room to build his next staff cannot be tolerated.

Speaking of Utah, Reid said he is close with Utes Head Coach Kyle Whittingham, his former teammate at BYU. "Deep down he really bleeds blue," Reid proudly said. "He just can't say that right now, but he does."

You might fit in better over at CB as there are plenty of people willing to share your opinion. What could Holmoe have done differently? Bronco took the VA job less than one week ago. The decision of who to hire next is a big one and one that shouldn't be rushed. If he tells Bronco no, you can't coach the bowl game and Bronco takes all of his staff....who do we have to coach? An unprepared staff is better than no staff at all. Furthermore, as far as staff retention goes, this is what happens. The outgoing coach poaches who he wants to poach and leaves behind guys he doesn't want anymore.

The bowl game is collateral damage at this point. Sure it is going to suck to lose to the Utes again, but it is far more important for TH to make sure he does the best he can at protecting BYU's future.
