That's funny.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View Post"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."
Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

I agree. The church needs to raise tithing to 12% and baptize Nick Saban now.Originally posted by Sullyute View PostSerious question on funds. If the church/BYU wants exposure, there are few things better than a winning football program. Why wouldn't the church be willing to pony up to keep Broncos or for a new coach? Seems really short sighted considering the other things the church spends money on."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Almost everything IPU posts on here is to advance his personal agenda that BYU should not have sports because he thinks that would make Utah sports better.Originally posted by Topper View PostBullshit.
The LDS faith is bleeding members, losing fights with powerful lobbies and really has no victories. The LDS Church desperately needs to continue to promote BYU as a university in the academic arenas despite the disdain it receives for lack of academic independence for its professors in some areas and its hostility to gays. Winning football games and basketball games brings positive press. It is more important now than ever before to retain some degree of respectability.

Not exactly. You have to couch in how bad BYU sports are for the church. That it would benefit Utah is just a random correlation. And where's LAUte when we need him most?Originally posted by BlueK View PostAlmost everything IPU posts on here is to advance his personal agenda that BYU should not have sports because he thinks that would make Utah sports better.

Probably still crying tears of joy on the side of the roadOriginally posted by jay santos View PostAnd where's LAUte when we need him most?"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I love this thread: byu fans trashing Bronco and su declaring him a genius. Cats and dogs living together!!!!
Byu will be fine (I can't believe I'm giving junkie a byu pep talk). Ken N or sitake would be fine with a small chance of great success or epic failure ([emoji14]ray
. Really, the byu job is cush: relatively little recruiting, 7 guaranteed wins (except next year), and you can keep a large portion of your fan base by saying things like "football is fifth." I expect the next coach to be more of the same, including futility against the utes.

What is the current speculation regarding what Bronco was bring paid and/or what a desirable replacement candidate might be offered? For example, Sitake makes $730K per year, which is toward the higher end of coordinator salaries. Does/can BYU pay more than that?"What are you prepared to do?" - Jimmy Malone
"What choice?" - Abe Petrovsky

Holmoe interviewed during halftime of the MBK game today. A few notes:
- New coach has to be active LDS (because he has to deal with missions, RMs, married players, players with kids and needs to be able to understand these dynamics)
- Timeline is ASAP. Wants it to be fast but will take the time to do it right
- He's already been interviewing candidates
- Some people have reached out to him
- Bronco left the program in great shape; this is a great job to take over
- No indication that there is a decision or that it's Anae's job
