There was plenty of time and the defense was playing great. Why not put stopping Utah on the backs of the defense? I get the rationale for an onside kick and wouldn't have complained if they had done it but very few coaches would have called it with over three minutes left and a defense that is getting the job done.

There was definitely enough time that an onside kick wasn't a no brainer, but not having Tuiloma stuffing the run certainly should have made it lean that way.

I just disagreed with it. We didn't have a lot of wiggle room. We only had 2 timeouts. They just needed one first down to get the clock to around a minute, maybe 1:20. You can still go out and stop them and you give up some field position, but then you have a chance, even if it's low, to get the ball back. I agree it's not a no brainer, but I thought they should have tried it.

Once again what happened in that game is not something you see every game. In fact meltdowns like that are very rare. The last thing I remember that even comes close was Max throwing five interceptions vs Utah in 2008. That's not even comparable because those interceptions occurred over the course of the game and not in sequence in such a small amount of time.

They get multiple turnovers against us every game, and are the more prepared team. They keep their composure. They don't shit the bed. They are always ready to play. The manner in which the turnovers occurred was weird, as were the scores off of the turnovers, but it ceases to be a fluke when they create three times as many turnovers as we do when we play.

Utah clearly has been successful creating turnovers beyond yesterday's game. Hopefully the new coaching staff fixes this.

You may want to check the average of how much each team rushes per game. Between the two there is a large disparity. Utah rushes almost fifteen times more per game than BYU. Rushing teams burn the clock at a much higher rate than passing teams thereby minimizing the chance of turning the ball over via interception. When passing Utah doesn't place a lot of trust in their QB and generally attempts low risk passes. Tanner is a FRESHMAN gunslinger who throws into coverage and throws a lot of jump balls. There's your disparity.
