I'm disappointed we lost Cedric Dale to Purdue. He was a talented athlete who would have been a good rb to have waiting in the wings. I'm sad Pritchard transferred. Like Napper, the oline worries me. We have a lot of seniors, including some dead weight. A couple of the rms seem like they have potential but it isn't fair to count on them for this year.
Koroma is too short to be anything other than a center. I know the coaches love his aggression and quickness. He did not have a lot of offers though, UNM, Arkansas State and UTEP were pretty much it.
I'm amazed with the immediate receiving help we got. Kurtz is big time. How often does BYU get a guy who Oregon, LSU and USC want? Blackmon is jet fast. Leslie is a legit and very talented, proven d-1 player. Trey Dye didn't have an exciting recruiting story, but he runs a sub 4.5 and is quick as hell. He will end being a useful player. Matt Bushman got a heavy push from his hometown Arizona Wildcats and from the Utes.
The dline pickups are fantastic. Fuga has a good name and some other suitors, including Utah early. We almost blew it with Uriah, we was a hot commodity toward the end. Stanford, Wisconsin, UCLA and Bronco said USC. Takitaki had plenty of options as well. I don't know much about Mariner, but he is Travis T's cousin which is a good sign. Gulley will end being a great player before it is all said and done. Nacua is a very legit talent, and I'm happy to get a Timpview kid. I hope Zac Dawe gets moved to OL, he was another BYU-Utah battle and it was settled early on.
Tyler Cook and Fred Warner are awesome gets with too many offers to count. Kaufusi was listed as a DB but I understand they like him at linebacker if he can put on weight.
Fonua is a freak of an athlete and will be a very good safety. Again another BYU-Utah battle. Shelton has speed galore. I remember reading somewhere that Auburn and maybe Utah offered him.
All in all this looks like the best class on paper BYU has had since '96.
Bronco said they might add a qb. It looks like Andrew Rodriquez is not headed to BYU unless he walks on.
