BYU filled a lot of needs, and I compliment the coaches for their effort and believe it may bolster the season. I am no fan of Utah, but there are some areas where Utah has superior athletes to BYU. One is at CB and another at receiver. I may not squat on 17 year old stalking sites as you do, but arguing Utah over the decades has not produced superior receivers and cbs seems silly.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

That is the rankings for this years class.

That is certainly a reason. My classmate who now works on 1st amendment issues, had Harvard law/MBA admission, but with his family it was so much more affordable to go to BYU. It didn't hurt him as he graduated first, clerked on the US Supremes and worked for Rex Lee's firm.

Other than Fred Warner I doubt any of these kids play much next year. Perhaps Tyler Cook, but I think BYU intends to play Troy Hinds as my instinct is they think he will play a similar role as Bronson Kaufusi so it makes sense to get Hinds involved. I think Warner backs up Fua on the other side with Alisa. Barring injuries I think those are the 5 OLBs who play this year. JLD will duke it out in the middle IMO.

Now I think the offensive recruits, namely the wide receivers, will play a lot immediately.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

The tuition thing wouldn't come into play with scholarship recruits. As a matter of fact it could work in reverse.

A Stanford Education vs a BYU Education measured in the value of the scholarship is no contest. Same for USC, UCLA, ND, etc. It is the culture that draws them. My cousins son chose BYU for that reason although my cousin and his wife really wanted him to take the Stanford offer.

Hinds is back? Sometimes we do get Xmas gifts in the form of RMs.

I think BYU has a handful of O-linemen returning from missions eligible to play this coming season. Not sure how many of them will be in shape to contribute.

My kids would take the Stanford offer. My stepson doesn't want to come this far west, but if he did, he'd go only to Stanford. Right now, he's looking to the Ivies and Penn State.

With Stanford or Ivies you're set for life no matter what. The best connections and you will always get an interview.

Is he the kid who had all kinds of offers and played at Davis? In the one game I saw him play against Lone Peak he didn't do much. Must be good though to get all those offeres. Where did the offensive lineman from Davis that year end up?

This was going to be my next question. Who is returning?

Other than Crazy Jay Cannon almost everyone I know of from Davis County is a pussie. I am not expecting much from Hinds....maybee he will be a good dentist or something.
