I don't recall Alisa scoring. He had a nice end around at the end of the game.

It's not worth running that all game and getting plowed for a couple opportunities. We needed to be taking advantage of the safeties and passing the ball. You can run against Utah to try and keep them honest and I think Alisa ran hard, but I don't really care to see Riley running the ball 17 times or whatever it was he ran. This is nearly an exact replica of his running effort against TCU last year.

I don't think he looked markedly worse than the Riley we've seen against Air Force/FSU/TCU/Tulsa (I know we won this, but you don't often win games with QB play that shoddy) and basically every other team he's faced of a decent caliber.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I had to work tonight and watched the game on DVR. I never felt comfortable either. Also, I didn't put enough extra time on the recording and missed the last 6+ minutes. I don't think reading the game update on ESPN captrues the craziness of the end of the game.

could be. I am no expert. it just seemed to me his ball had even less velocity than usual. Maybe thats because Utah's defense was just a step faster.

I understand what you're saying, but it's not that easy for those LDS Ute fans to do anything about something like that. I've seen many Ute fans go after the bigot contingent that only shows up once every other year -and to be fair, folks aren't looking around the stadium for that kind of crap when they're sitting in the stadium to watch the game.

I had no idea that that sign was there until I read about it here, as my seats are behind the north endzone and if it was shown on the jumbotron, I wouldn't have seen it as the only time I even bother to look at the screen is during a replay. I'm guessing most folks do that as well.

I'm not excusing the boorish behavior of bigots nor am I referring to you in particular, but it's really easy for a BYU fan to make such comments about stuff like this when he isn't there for every Utah home game.

I assure you, when you see it you will say you've never seen anything like it.

Both teams left everything out on the field tonight.

Dang guys, we were one crazy-screwed-up-hike-to-Riley-who-was-looking-to-the-sideline-that-then-goes-for-a-TD-for-the-UofUtah-the-other-way from winning this thing. The FYM fought back well, led by Riley. Then "doink II."

And it would take a Ute to put an end to it as well. Draw your own conclusions as to who would be Reagan and who would be Jimmy Carter.

It was nuts, but the refs got it spot on, correct, and I don't bLame the Utah fans for the ending. I'm actually pretty impressed that they were a me to get fans off the field not once, but twice in a very short amount of time.

I'd fire the timekeeper, however. He/she got a nice little reprimand on the :08 seconds bit.

Don't let Shaka tell you otherwise, you are much better judge of talent than him even as a football neophyte. Anyone who watched AF/Tulsa/TCU/FSU with a rational mind knew exactly what Riley was, a terrible QB.

                            Bright spots from the game:

                            1. BYU defense.

                            2. Jamal Williams will be very good for BYU at running back.

                            3. I get the sense from the game, even with the penalties, that the rivalry passion is starting to get a little more measured. Didn't see as much jawing and dirty play as in years past. Maybe I am just oblivious.

Preach on, brother. I will forever mock anyone who runs onto the field after a game. The fans don't belong there, as they had nothing to do with the win.

Well neither am I. But I think for every time people have commented that he looks like he's throwing the ball better, a game like this serves as a reminder, just as some of those games I mentioned did in years before. And I simply think it's a factor of what I mentioned above. With time and the opportunity to fully step into throws, he's pretty much just at the acceptable threshold for QB arm strength. take that away from him and he just moves too far below it. Of course every QB is better with time and an opportunity to move into the throw, but I just don't think he can get away with anything less where others can.
