How likely is it that Paterno never learned of the 1998 incident, and this had nothing to do with Sandusky's early retirement in the prime of a highly successful coaching career?

What gets me about that book is that he had to have known that he'd get caught someday, and why oh why would you ever choose that title?Originally posted by U-Ute View Post

I think there is a zero percent chance that Paterno removed his hand picked replacement without exact knowledge of the Sandusky accusations.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostHow likely is it that Paterno never learned of the 1998 incident, and this had nothing to do with Sandusky's early retirement in the prime of a highly successful coaching career?A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life. - Mohammad Ali

It doesn't matter the likelihood.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostHow likely is it that Paterno never learned of the 1998 incident, and this had nothing to do with Sandusky's early retirement in the prime of a highly successful coaching career?"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Breaking news on ESPN:
"Former Penn state defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky tells NBC's "Rock Center" he is not a pedophile and is innocent of all charges in Penn State child sex case. Sandusky admits to showering and horsing around with young boys, and says "I shouldn't have showered with those kids." Sandusky: "I have hugged them and I have touched their legs without intent of sexual contact."

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Not sure if this has been posted, but I read a report on ESPN insider that said that PSU reached out to UVA coach Mike London about its job before Paterno was officially let go.
He told them thanks, but no thanks.
If true. Wow...way to keep your priorities in order there Penn St."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I don't believe that he was guilty of anything other than being an immature mantoddler. I've read the depositions from the Polanski case, and I've read a lot about Jackson's alleged deeds. I don't think that Michael Jackson did anything criminal.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostAnd music by Michael Jackson?"Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. Even Kyle and Bronco mentioned as possible replacements here.Originally posted by DrumNFeather View PostNot sure if this has been posted, but I read a report on ESPN insider that said that PSU reached out to UVA coach Mike London about its job before Paterno was officially let go.

Oddly, the writer is under the mistaken impression that Kyle turned down the Tennessee job.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

The term "horsing around" makes me so f***ing mad. That has to be the ugliest euphemism in the English language. WTF do you exactly mean by "horsing around" you bleeping pedophile?Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostBreaking news on ESPN:

Honestly I could see a job like Penn State appealing to Bronco and who knows, maybe PSU would want to bring in a squeaky clean total outsider after all this stuff.
It's a long shot, but it sort of makes sense. No way would somebody like Urban Meyer or Bob Stoops take the job. Maybe somebody like Mark Richt would go ahead and take the PSU job if they payed him a ton since he was damn close to being fired two games into this season anyway.
