Jake Heaps will have a new teammate. Actually, it will be more like Dayne Crist will have a new teammate since Heaps has to sit out next year at KU. Nebraska DE Josh Williams is transferring to KU for his senior season. Like Crist, Williams earned his degree so he doesn't need to sit out a year. Williams is a good kid and a decent player who needed to find a place to play after violating team rules at Nebraska (he has already redshirted).Originally posted by Red Legger View PostYou know and I know that they know that soon this:

Til my last days, though, I'll be at the front of the koolaid line when it concerns Red Leggers on the gridiron.

If it was just pot, we'll take him. KU needs all the help it can muster on the defensive line. Derp (ie Turner Gill) did not sign one defensive tackle in the last 2 years.Originally posted by Paperback Writer View PostJake Heaps will have a new teammate. Heaps is coming along nicely. We recruited some hot shot California Juco QB to back up Crist and challenge Heaps. However, it's Heaps job to lose at this point.
http://www.kuathletics.com/sports/m-...032712aab.htmlOn who is going to back up Dayne Crist at quarterback:
"Right now, I'm using (Jake) Heaps in the spring as if he's getting ready to play because when we get to the summertime I can't do that anymore. Heaps is leaps and bounds ahead of the other quarterbacks in the program; it's not close. So with that being said, how am I going to get him ready to play here in the program knowing that he can't play in the games next year? When you're getting your teams ready to play in the summertime, how many reps can you really get him?

I've heard that before. Just wait until he plays in a game and isn't wearing the yellow jersey.Originally posted by Red Legger View PostIf it was just pot, we'll take him. Ya'll are spoiled. Outside of Todd Reesing, we rarely have seen a QB complete a pass accross the LOS. That's all we're expecting. If the kid can do that, he'll be an improvement.Originally posted by Green Monstah View PostI've heard that before. Just wait until he plays in a game and isn't wearing the yellow jersey.

Nolan Cromwell is probably KU's best QB ever and he played DB in the NFL. :POriginally posted by Red Legger View PostYa'll are spoiled. Outside of Todd Reesing, we rarely have seen a QB complete a pass accross the LOS. That's all we're expecting. If the kid can do that, he'll be an improvement.

True. In 1976, Cromwell and his Red Leggers went down to Norman and ended OU's 2 year winning streak and stamped a Big, Black L on Barry Switzer's MNC. Jayhawkers emplyed a wishbone that fall and the Ransom Rambler had 44 rushes and did not complete a pass.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostNolan Cromwell is probably KU's best QB ever and he played DB in the NFL. :P
By the way in 1984, a Jayhawker named Mike Norseth who played at Snow Juco helped BYU's cause by upsetting the Gooners in Lawrence which was their only regular season loss. In the modern masterpiece 'The Bootleggers Boy' by the Bootleggers Boy, he stated on page 69, "KU cost me two undefeated MNC."

My gawd, a Slaver. Here?Originally posted by BYUMizzou View PostAre the chickenhawks still trying to field a football team over there in Kansas?
We don't really try. We generally go thru the motions so we can keep our end of the bargain in the Big 12, make gobs of money, spend it on the MBB recruiting budget and enjoy the Final Four. That's always been good enough to go 0.500 w/ the Slavers in football and kick their arse in MBB. Much more enjoyable than watching Drinkle try to drive his pick-up truck or First Round Frank lose to Norfolk State. Don't you think?
