Yep. I am guessing that this will end badly for him."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I know Weiss kind of went down in flames at Notre Dame, but he did work some miracles when he was with the Pats and the Jets. He has a knack of spotting talent, and coaching them up (drafting unknowns like Tom Brady and Wes Welker, but also getting Logan Mankins and Laurence Muroney).
Weiss believes in having a tough running game to set up the pass, and not the other way around. Will this play to Heaps' strengths, if he has a solid runing game that forces defenses to crowd the box and open up his passing lanes?
Either way somebody needs to get the kid right in the head so he can overcome himself.

The Dolphins drafted Welker and he had 60 catches in the season before he was traded to the Patriots.Originally posted by NorthwestUteFan View PostI know Weiss kind of went down in flames at Notre Dame, but he did work some miracles when he was with the Pats and the Jets. Laurence Maroney and Logan Mankins were both first round picks.
Brady is an interesting case he gives a lot of credit to Weis. However when he was drafted it was QB coach Dick Rehbein that was adamant the Patriots take him. Weis was not even the OC until the following year.
He did develop both Brady Quinn and Jimmy Clausen who were first round picks. He was also the OC for the Chiefs last year and you can see the drop off this season.
However the rehab project in front of him at Kansas is second to none, he has a long ways to go and I am not sure Jake will have the talent around him to show what he can do.*Banned*

One upside: we should get a few more visits from redlegger."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

That's what I'm worried about as well. 0-9 in the B12 last year is just brutal.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostThat Kansas roster is pretty bad. I think it is a good situation for him to start and play right away (although they do have a sophomore that started 12 games last year but he was terrible) however he will not be surrounded by much talent that roster is depleted with no help on the horizon. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I'm sure he had plenty of options in terms of teams that would take him. But in terms of walking in and having the best chance of starting? Yeah, maybe it was his best option.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostI'm sorry, but I just can't see how this situation is any better for him than what he was dealing with at BYU. Did this end up being his only option?
Though of course everything about BYU was his best option IMO. That's what makes the fact that he left because of Doman obvious. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.
