Why does it have to be a distant cousin? His mom anddad were not at the game. The article does not specify it was his mom or dad. It was probably his asshole uncle. Th one that tried to show up to every practice this year and after being turned away multpl times went to Holmoe and was relectantly allowed in. Until he started coaching Riley from the sidelines and was told to shut up or leave. Of course then his dad piped up and they were both booted. Great family.

Does it really matter what kind of relative it was? It is one thing to see that kind of info/gossip on a message board, but to put it in an article in the DNews by the primary BYU beat reporter is just unbelievable. It will be interesting to see if it is in the print edition in the morning.

Papa Viking is how I had even remote success in my life. Having said that, even after running one of the top five races in my high school's 25 year history (which includes 3 NCAA 1st team All-Americans as grads), my father called me a failure and a quitter (he was right, by the way). That is how we were raised...perfection.

I just don't know enough about the situation to mockingly call him a quitter and I'd be a hypocrite if I did, since I, myself, quit.

I don't know if I've mellowed out or if it's from seeing how the season went, but I'm not as upset at this transfer as I was with Ben a few years back, though I think he could have had success in Provo if he'd taken some deep breaths and focused on the game and not the drama. I wish him luck and if he ends up with the Ole Ball Coach, I'll have to road trip with my neighbor, a USC alum, to go check him out. But I don't see that happening.

If he were my son, unless he has a really good landing spot, I would have suggested he stick it out. Learn from this and prove himself. He's invested a lot in BYU already; it's difficult to start over.

If the article is true I have to believe that if Doman still wanted Heaps at BYU, he would still be at BYU. I have a hard time thinking that Heaps would have left if Doman wuld have stayed involved with Heap reassuring him of his place in the program etc.

If Doman did everything in his power to keep him and he still left then its on heaps. Or if Doman didn't bother because he didn't think heaps was worth it, then so be it.
