I had to explain extensively in 2002 why I wanted my daughters' names on the nameplate for donations to the new facilities instead of mine...they couldn't understand why I wouldn't want the recognition. It was weird.

                Hi Tom,

I heard you talk right before the SDSU game last year when you flew down to give a speech to the BYU MS LA Chapter. That Thursday's heroes speech got me pumped up.
Tomorrow, you too can be a Thursday's Hero!

BTW, we young guys want to give money, but we also want to feel assured that the program isn't going to shoot itself in the foot when a once in a lifetime chance comes along.

'Sup Tom - glad we have this tool for talking to you now. Ever since the night I managed to high five you as you left the field on Candlestick on that Monday in 1987 I feel like you've been a little distant - this feels a lot closer. Hope you feel it too.

So anyway - just wanted to say I know this must be a crazy week and whatever the outcomes are I've got a lot faith that you're going to make the smartest decision. By "a lot" I mean more than Viking and Jay Santos who don't seem to have the highest opinions of your decision-making ability.

However it goes down I'll still go for another high five - or possibly a fist bump (but not the high five / man hug combo) at our next meeting.

LDS people call them spirits, not ghosts. Unless you are talking about the Holy Ghost, then there seems to be an aversion to calling him the Holy Spirit. I hope that clears things up.

Actually it was $10,000. You get your name on the wall it may have been $20,000. I know my brother talked me into us combining our funds because one Legacy II has more pull than two Legacy I's. He and his wifes names look great on the wall.

ftr, I don't think he makes bad decisions. I just think his authority to implement decisions for BYU athletics and influence on the real decision makers is slightly higher than mine.

                              Dear Tom,

I just want you to know that your decision (If you have been given that authority) will impact over 10 million LDS faithful members (Excluding PU and other messed up LDS Utah fans). So "Don't Muff It". Also, I have put in a few calls to the high rollers in CC and they say if you screw this up, you can kiss any future money out that Indy ass of yours..

I know it won't come to that because you know this is an easy decision.. Our family fasted and prayed for this and many others have followed suit. So listen to your heart and you will hear that small whisper in your bosom and you will hear, "JOIN THE FREAKING BIG 12"!!!!!

                              Be Richly Blessed.
