One thing for sure that this thread has taught me is that every Ute fan should be thrilled about the Tim Davis hire. There is clearly no downsides to the hire or anything that we should be concerned about with Tim Davis. If there was anything negative to say about Davis, cougjunkie would have already filled us in.
I think if the deals go through, both will be upgrades and are good hires. Tim Davis is a nice hire for Utah even if NoCho is a NoShow.
Oh good hell, leave the utefans shit over on that site. BJ was really bad last year and he wasn't qualified for the job. Maybe he will grow into the position over time, but right now the hire doesn't look good.
So you don't think pre-injury Sophomore Wynn was any better than Freshman Wynn? OR are you saying BJ had no part in that development?
Tapeouts have that effect on me. But yeah, that didn't make a lot of sense.
I forgot that is what you were doing this week. Carry on!
"The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."
"They talk about the economy this year. Hey, my hairline is in recession, my waistline is in inflation. Altogether, I'm in a depression."
"I like to bike. I could beat Lance Armstrong, only because he couldn't pass me if he was behind me."
So that I may properly evaluate JiSLC's disclaimer, I need to know what a "tapeout" is.
I will let him explain that one to you. The best understanding I have of it is that it is a ton of work with minimal sleep.

I think this actually a good question that we will hopefully find out the answer to next year. It is hard to explain what happened to Wynn last year. He either was hurt and it affected him more than anyone let on or he became a head case or both. I would like to see if he still has all the mental problems that afflicted him last year once he is physically well and confident again in what his body can do. Maybe that will never happen, but I have not at all given up on the idea that the Wynn we saw at the end of last year and the beginning of this one is still in there somewhere.

Database release so that our chip can be manufactured. It is a lot of work and stress, and it transforms me into somebody else entirely. Think of it like lychanthropy for nerds.
I am not as dumb as my brother thinks I am....or he is not as sly as he thinks he is. Take your pick.
This is not the place for Ute fans to be bickering with other Ute fans (unless it's Il Pad vs SU or everyone vs SloanHater). This is the place for Utah and BYU fans to bicker, along with apostates and mullahs; Jazz vs Lakers; Republicans and Democrats; lovers of the xbox vs PS3 lovers; Radiohead fans vs non-Radiohead fans; and Utahns vs non-Utahns.
But I understand, you're still learning the CUF culture.
I personally think that SH will make sure that this rivlary never reaches Utah vs Utah St proportions of irrelevancy.

So, Ute folk, what's the latest on this? In limbo? Any good rumors we can sink our teeth into?
I think everybody realizes that we won't know anything substantive about this until Chow and whatever employer he chooses are good and ready to tell us. (I expect some leaks within 24 hours before the official announcement and have a feeling we'll read about those here.)

I am 85-90% confident Chow will be Utah's next OC, but if it doesn't happen by Signing Day, it won't happen at all.

I bet this gets wrapped up very soon. It sounds like Neuheisel wants to make changes, so he's motivated to move Chow aside in favor of his guy. It seems like Neuheisel and Chow are playing a game of chicken, Chow wanting to force Neuheisel to fire him and Neuheisel trying to get Chow to resign, probably by suggesting Chow will be demoted to a position coach. Resolution lies somewhere in the middle. I bet it gets done this week.
Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I wonder if UCLA would really pay a million dollars to a QB coach. I read somewhere that if they fire him, they have to pay him his full salary minus whatever Utah pays him. Utah should pay him $1 and let UCLA pick up his salary for the next two years.
