Shut your whore mouth! You spreading this camping hatred around the Puget Sound is taking money out of my pocket.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostGuess you can't damper the enthusiasm of the little guy. My favorite part of camping is hanging around the fire making s'mores at night. I genuinely enjoy that part of it, but I pretty much hate everything that comes after. Tents, sleeping bags, sleeping on the ground, boo! That's why my preferred form of camping is at Mr. I's beach house. Hang around the fire pit with some sand, take a shower and sleep in a bed.Get confident, stupid

Bye bye, Riley. It's only a matter of time.Star of the day was third-string QB James Lark, who led a touchdown drive. Mendenhall said battle for No. 2 QB spot is not settled at all.
Make that a 7-yard TD pass to Cutler. Lark was 5 of 5 for 36 yards, 1 TD. Riley Nelson threw an interception on his only play.
In the third series, James Lark (who is said to be in the shape of his life, by the way) found Dallin Cutler with a 7-yard TD pass.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Some other notes coming up via twitter.
Poppinga: "Van Noy worked his butt off in the summer...came in 12 pounds heavier (now 233)...has made the most plays of anybody on defense."
OLB coach Kelly Poppinga: "Kyle Van Noy has come out in these first two days and blown me away...has exceeded any expectations that I had."
Marcus Mathews, owner of the best hands of any BYU tight end so far, suffered a muscle strain or stinger and missed second half of practice.
The open spot on the offensive line went to Marco Thorson today. Thorson was the #1 LG, replacing Houston Reynolds, the #2 center today.
On the offensive end, Rhen Brown (who we singled out on Saturday) had another good day today; he's putting himself firmly in the mix at Z.
Mendenhall said that Ezekiel "Ziggy" Ansah, the track star-turned defensive end, will play in nickel situations as a pass rusher
Robbie Buckner and Jordan Johnson took turns backing up Eason at field, with Cameron Comer remaining in the mix. D. Everett back to BC todaySo Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Holt talks about the TE's and how he can feel his legs.
http://www.deseretnews.com/article/7...ning.html?pg=1"I noticed today I could actually feel my legs after practice," Holt said. "A year ago, after practice or a game, my legs felt like rocks. I could barely walk. Even in spring ball I felt my legs lagging, but today I don't feel that any more."
Holt says BYU's tight ends were trying to find an identity last year and never quite did.
"I can honestly say I learned more in those three weeks of spring practice with coach Reynolds than I did all last year. I don't know if it's the coach," he said. "(This year) I think it is because Reynolds is a fantastic coach, but we're all learning we have different strengths that we do well."So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

More notes from the Desnews.
http://www.deseretnews.com/article/7...e-session.htmlJake Heaps finished the day going 4-for-5 for 31 yards during team drills.
James Lark went 5-for-5 for 36 yards, which included a 5-yard touchdown pass to Dalin Cutler.
Mike Hague had the defensive highlight of the day, picking off a pass thrown by Riley Nelson. Other defensive highlights included sacks recorded by Ezekial Ansah, Mike Muehlmann and Skye Povey.
Marco Thorson got looks at left guard with the No. 1s today while Joe Sampson saw reps with the second-team defense at cornerback.
Tight end Marcus Mathews left practice early with an apparent stinger injury to his shoulder.
Corbin Kaufusi attended practice today. He's grey-shirting in the fall and will participate in spring practices before leaving for a mission. He's grown quite a bit since high school, reporting that he's now 6-foot-8 and 245 pounds.
Kicker Justin Sorensen connected on a 45-yard field goal during live drills. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebaske...brandon-davies
"The moment the Brandon Davies thing hit the media, one of our associate athletic directors received a check from a woman who was not a member of the LDS faith, but saw the integrity being upheld and said she wanted to support this," [offensive coordinator Brandon] Doman said. "From that moment on, we've been receiving phone calls from moms and dads saying they wanted us to recruit their son because they want him in that environment. The volume of that hasn't been like that prior to this year."
BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall said that non-LDS athletes from around the country, who share the school's values, are indeed putting the Cougars on their lists of potential destinations.
"With the Brandon Davies story in basketball, it's been interesting to see how well-educated they are (about BYU) already. They are seeking us because of that story. They want those standards for their kids. It's helpful because they're not questioning, asking why (does BYU) have (those standards). They've already identified 'that's how we live, that's how we want our son to be raised.'""Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

This is really interesting. I'll admit that I must not have a very good pulse on public perceptions, because I've heard this from a lot of people. I thought BYU would come across as self-righteous and harsh, when in reality, I think most thought it was a pretty classy move.Originally posted by Surfah View Post
I've had similar experiences in discussing the Word of Wisdom with people. At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah
