Jensen was over 240 but ran a 4.83. I would consider that slow, not fast. Kehl played his senior year at 230 and ran 4.58. Very good which is why he is still in the nfl, K pop ran a 4.74, at 240 again not good speed.

I think we are projecting results of the field to physical attributes that aren't necessarily true.

According to NFLdraftscout.com K Popp clocked a low 40 of 4.67 which ain't bad at 240 and is faster than Bauman who played almost 15 pounds lighter.

You're right that Jensen wasn't fast but he had great lateral movement and instincts and was, again, as fast as some of the smaller guys who have been there the last couple of years.

The Soelberg actually did have elite speed, but was probably the worst tackler I can ever remember (and that isn't even hyperbole). I remember hearing about guys like Cody Fonnesbeck and Bret Cooper supposedly being burners, but I don't remember Fonnesbeck ever seeing the field, and my only memories of Cooper are fumbled kickoff returns.

It's because Fonnesbeck at most played two years (if that... mission transition time) and i think tore an ACL. Cooper and Bradford butted heads and Cooper was moved around between WR and DB. He was fast but not an absolute burner type like Watkins or Soelberg.

Fonnesbeck transferred to ASU to run track. I ran into him a few times down there. Dude was tiny.

I remember this kid. He was all everything at QB in Canada but instead came to BYU to change positions and be a scout team player and an internet legend.

Ansah is my favorite internet legend. The fans are so excited about a guy who's never played football. It makes me sad.

Tollestrup and Ansah are two of the best athletes on the team. They're just not very good football players. Tollestrup isn't physical enough and Ansah still hasn't learned the game.

Tollestrup will likely never make an impact but Ansah has a chance. If Ziggy ever puts it together mentally he could be in the rotation next year. I wouldn't be surprised if he got some snaps this year as strictly a pass rusher.

I don't doubt that they're great athletes. I knew lots of great track athletes that couldn't play any ball sports at a high level. I remember a buddy who was a 7' 2 1/2" high jumper in HS. Did very well at the Penn Relays and other elite events. He was a below average basketball player who would periodically throw down the sickest dunk you've ever seen. I have another buddy who was an all-american in volleyball in college but was laughable at hoop because he was so scared of contact. I think it is harder than most people think to be elite in a sport and D-1 football players are elite.

I think Ansah got some snaps last year. I know he was on special teams and participated there but I think I saw him at DE a few times as well.

Gman said he has a legit shot of making the 2-deep at receiver. I was wondering about him because I was surprised when I read that given that I had never heard of him until yesterday. Cracking the 2-deep given our talent at WR right now would be impressive, especially if he just started playing there. But yeah, he's listed at 6'1" 175 lbs so I'm not sure he has the physicality.

Or is this just Gman hype?

His uncle was one hell of a great hoopster at the BYU and we need to keep the Lovely Deseret Sattelite colony of the Great White North still thinking we love them so when the next Jimmy Balderson comes along he will not doubt taking his mad skeeelz to the BYU!

Barring injury, I seriously doubt it. Any extra snaps available will be split between Falslev and Hafoka.

His uncle was the Tollerstrup that played for BYU in the 70's? I think it was the 70's. He played forward and was very good. Is that the guy?
