It must be such a relief to you to talk about football. I recommend doing so as much as you can before the fall. Soon you'll have nothing to talk about at all.

      "We're a basketball school."

So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

As opposed to BYU's quest for the Idaho state championship? Your home slate after Utah and UCF is straight out of 1-AA. But I suppose if it's good enough for the Kraft Fight Hunger bowl, it will be worth it.

Yes, everyone on the forum could have typed that response for you. The difference is that we'll be winning our games.

And you should really work on figuring out your new conference's bowl affiliations. BYU might be in the bowl once, in 2013. Utah will be lucky to get there at all.

you're right, we're not playing powerhouses like montana state and wazzu.

Did we mention all of our games are on TV next year? Basketball too?

Oh wait...yours aren't? Unless you live in SLC proper. Nice.

Wazzu would be a touchdown favorite minimum against half the teams on your schedule, and we play Wazzu on the road, which is more than BYU can say about its Cupcake City schedule.

Fixed. Our bowl invites will be to Pasadena, San Antonio or San Diego. In down years, El Paso and Las Vegas. But congrats in advance on that Idaho State Championship. At least you can claim a championship of some kind next year. Then again, with your WAC-lite schedule, how could you not?

Too bad for you that our highlights will come up before BYU's on SportsCenter. Every. Single. Week. And I rest easy knowing the half-dozen or so big games we have on the docket will be televised, and once Emperor Scott has the networks bowing before him (and tossing each school about $20 million annually, minimum, as thanks), we'll make that same claim as well.

We're relevant. You're not. But you go ahead and keep thinking you are.

You are right BYUs schedule sucks. I agree we will never get another good team to ever come to LES. Except for Texas, Notre Dame, Oregon State, Georgia Tech, etc. that have already agreed to it.

Drunk posting by Landpoke is funny, when you do it not so much.

Repeat after me: Utah State, San Jose State, Idaho, Idaho State, New Mexico State. I'd ask if there's any point in going to a game after UCF, but since you'll be 0-4 after that game, I'm guessing the memories of last year will still be fresh, when you had a series of dogs on the schedule and actually won a few games. So there's hope.

Ahhh, the sweet life of a Ute fan. Focusing on football smack during basketball season and basketball smack during football season.

                            • Back on topic. Glad the quarterback situation is worked out for the next few years. We have a freshman all-american returning and do not have to worry about choosing between a guy that beat up his coach, another guy that has never taken about 5 collegiate snaps in garbage time, or a guy that sucked last year and is returning from major shoulder surgery.

Tomorrow we can focus on running back depth. No overrated weed head true freshman will start for us.

                              • What the hell happened here? We were talking BYU football and Pat shows up and starts crapping all over our living room. Very bad form.

Will someone please call PU to come take Pat home?
                                Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
