That's correct. The trainig staff acts as the liasion between the coaching staff & players during ther workouts.

Yes, I believe they're allocated 15 practices for spring ball. After that, it's back to the off season program.

      • Questions about the secondary for those that know:

What position did DQ Everett play in the fall, and has there been anything definitive about where he'll play in the spring?

Will Hadley, Comer, or Sampson come to BYU with a redshirt year available?

I've heard that DQE is running at both spots during 7 on 7s and that coaches are going to use spring to decide where to place him finally.

If I'm not mistaken Hadley has 3 to play 3 and Sampson has 3 to play 2. Not sure about Comer.

By both spots you mean field and boundary, or corner and safety?

I really hadn't been thinking football at all, until I let my mind start considering a fall camp with Tuiloma, Rowley, Sampson, and Stout all being present. Not sure how many of those guys will actually be here in the fall, but it sure would be a huge boost to the defense if it happened.

I think even without a couple of those guys (Stout and Rowley in particular) we'll be just fine. Sampson and Tuiloma are a greater need IMO. Our defense will be very good next year. I'm excited for this unit. Our linebacking corp is stacked.

I'm pretty sure Sampson only has 2 to play 2. He took this past year off which (if I'm not mistaken) still counts against his eligibility clock.

                        • BYU Tank with some interesting Tweets:

Out with the old... In with the new.... Excited for Tues. meeting at L.E.S. lots of changes to be made.
Talking points: Rebranding, Approved upgrades, Fan experience, New partnerships, Wish lists
Phewwww lunch break. Re-branding has been the main focus so far. Lots of mwc scrubbing to do.
New designs for the football field and basketball court look great. Now that we have the freedom to do some things we are taking advantage.
This is really being looked as a opportunity for a fresh look with football being the first to show it off.
When will fans see some of the first changes? This years stadium of fire! There is a plan to have a "announcement" during this years show.

The Cougars to play in 3-D. Glasses handed out on the honor system at the door/portal.

                            • 11 offensive players about to explode
                              WR Cody Hoffman, BYU
Last December’s New Mexico Bowl rout of UTEP provided a sneak peak of what to expect from the Cougars passing game over the next three seasons. Hoffman and QB Jake Heaps, a pair of first-year players, hooked up eight times for 137 yards and three touchdowns to finish first on the team in receiving yards and touchdown catches. A small-town recruit, with only one other offer from Sacramento State, it already looks as if a bunch of Pac-10 teams failed to properly measure his ceiling. At 6-4 and 205 pounds, he already has the size to outmuscle and play above opposing defensive backs. More important, he has the confidence of Heaps, which is going to make this a dangerous connection in 2011 and beyond.

                              • Wow. Talk about an early candidate for BYU's most overrated player in 2011. Then again, games against six WAC teams will inflate Hoffman's numbers. But the 7-72-0 line against the teams that finished ahead of BYU in the MWC sure are exciting!
